I don't usually leave reviews, but we've had a fab week at Domes. The rooms are cleaned twice a day. The overall complex is also kept very clean. We mainly went to the beach area, lovely safe areas for children to swim. The pool area is not near the beach, but this wasn't an issue for us. Food was great for us, we are at the buffet all evenings. They catered so well for our food intolerances. A special thank you to Martina and Julia for looking after us so well. It really made our sons holiday to be able to have desserts 😊 Our son loved the moktails too, all staff were so friendly and professional. We're thinking of booking for 2023!

We stayed here for a week at the end of May. It was perfect. The location is amazing and the beach is gorgeous - not miles of golden sand but the perfect amount of shade under olive trees, enough sun-loungers for everyone and beautiful turquoise sea that's gentle enough for even the littlest kids. All the staff are cheerful and friendly (although I pity them in their black uniforms come sweltering August) and always happy to help. Special shout-out to Dimitri working the breakfast in Blend restaurant and to Eleni and her staff in the kids club - all wonderful and really keen we all enjoyed ourselves. As a family of 5, we went for one of the small villas with a pool - really worth the extra money - but the communal pools are gorgeous too. The food offering was great but I'd also recommend showing a little love to the restaurants in the nearby village of Plaka (a ten minute walk). We had some lovely evenings there looking out to Spinalonga. Our first trip abroad as a family in over three years, it was worth every penny

We stayed for a week in the beginning of August, a 5people family. This has been a fantastic experience and we loved every single moment of it! The whole experience makes you want to stay for ever. Smiling and hospitable staff everywhere, at the beach, the pool, the restaurants, the room service, we felt welcome all the time. A special note should be made for the restaurant buffets: not only rich but of high quality, full of options for every taste, with expensive choices every time. The hotel offers free water everywhere, even at the beach/pool, something we have not seen anywhere else. Large and spacious bedrooms, even the basic ones with a big and comfortable double bed that really helps you rest at night. 5-star cleaning service with cleaning staff showing up twice a day! We enjoyed our holidays to the full and we are looking forward to visit again in the future. Kudos to the management and all people working there!

We had a lovely time at Domes of Elounda. It was our second week in Crete - we spent the first week at Amirandes which we also enjoyed. Both have pros and cons. Domes - much better location. Loved Elounda, Ayios Nikolaos, Plaka and Spinalonga. Great diving. Hotel beach is lovely - narrow but sandy with good shade, excellent service and lovely shallow calm sea. Sure, its a touristy area but it is 'good' touristy, very friendly and not particularly tacky (contrast eg Heronissos). Accommodation was great. We had a luxury two bed residence which was fab - sizeable pool and very well appointed. These residences (and all the haute living accommodation) are on the 'other' side of the hotel, near the (lovely) main pool. I did find this a bit irritating - the property is huge, and very spread out, which is nice but it did feel as though it slightly lacked a 'heart', and I found the golf buggy transport system deeply annoying. Never quite there when you needed them - though not bad enough to be a massive gripe. Indeed in general, the resort felt a bit understaffed (contrast Amirandes). Staff were mostly very nice (breakfast in the main hotel an exception where staff were rushed and a bit rude at times). Haute living staff were delightful. Food was ok. I didn't love the main hotel buffet area - felt a bit tacky, loud and hurried, and possibly rather too small. Breakfast in the pool area was much nicer (Amirandes breakfast definitely much better overall and an infinitely more pleasant seating area). We also tried the beach restaurant and the sushi restaurant which were fine, nice staff and ambience though food not amazing: but more than good enough. In the end we ditched the buffet in the hotel (despite having paid for it) and just went out to local tavernas for a change of ambience/to be a bit less hectic. So overall it was a lovely week, and thank you to all the staff. We loved most of the amenities (the kids area looked amazing. Core was a nice if puzzling/underutilised concept) and the accommodation was absolutely excellent. The golf carts were annoying (to me - the kids liked them!) and I didn't like feeling I couldn't get around under my own steam. Food was better at Amirandes and the staff there were completely exceptional, but for everything else (except the golf carts!) and particularly the location, Domes just about shades it. I would happily recommend both hotels

We stayed at the hotel end of July - early August, overall experience was good, however it could have been not so pleasant without some of the effort made by some staffs. What we enjoyed the most: - Location the hotel location is great with a lovely beach area, view from the sea view room is spectacular. - Room: we stayed in one of the garden view premium suite, one of the most basic category, however the room amenities , size was very comfortable. with 80 sqm, it makes you feels at home, especially with kid. although we chose a garden view, but because our room is allocated high up, it also has a great sea view. what a nice surprise! - Room service/ cleaning team is great, they are efficient and clean the room very very well and super friendly. - the resort is large and spread out, therefore, you never felt crowded, and no need to get up early to get sun bed by the beach or pool, they are always available. - The buffet breakfast and dinner were all great, a lot of choice and we were able to find something we like everyday. - Buggies are efficient, we rarely need to wait for more than 3 mins for transfer . Although we do prefer walking, and to be honest it wasn't that bad to walk if you know the short cut. - Kids club are great, the staff there are very friendly and our daughter really enjoyed. For improvement: - hotel only offer 1 bottle of water on the first day, and the rest of the days, they bring you water in the evening, but in the paper bottle. which doesn't give you the feeling of a premium hotel. the cost of 1 glass bottled water should be very similar to 3 small paper bottle/plastic bottle. but the feeling will be so much different. - Fitness program, there are limited fitness programs hotel offered, and they all come with extra charge. we tried one of the functional training, however wasn't really impressed, the trainer was not ethuthiastic. - Restaurant. with half-board, you can choose to eat in one of the a la carte restaurant with a credit of 15 euro per adult and 7 per kid. this is really little to be honest and I do think the value should have cover at least the average price of one of the main course. (which in this should be around 25 per adult, or 15 per kid ) putting price aside, what disappointed us the most is the quality in the a la carte restaurant. We dined in both Blend and Topos. Topos being ok, but Blend, was a total disappointment. We waited long for the food, and when my stake arrived, it was cold... I immediately told the staff, and they did apologise and took it away, however when they bring it back... they simple just heated the steak.. it works, but my medium rare steak became more than medium cooked..... I didn't bother asking again as I don't want to wait another 30 mins .. it was so weird that they don't serve you any bread, and you need to order from the menu for the 10 euro bread basket, money is not the most important issue, but for us, we simple cannot eat that many, I only need 2-3 slice of bread to go with my steak, so I asked the staff. They said they were ok to bring me some, however until the end of our meal, the bread didn't come... what a disappointment, especially the team even make the promise. Now the most unpleasant thing happened on our 3rd night, at 11:30 pm, when my daughter was asleep, and I am almost falling into sleep, our phone rang in the room, and when picked up, the staff asked us to be quite as there were neighbours complaining the noise... we were shocked as we have been quite like dead for at least 1.5 hours.. and without any verification, the team just assumed to be us (the suite are all connected, so no one could be 100% sure where the noice is coming from) at 11:30 pm. I would at least try make the effort and walk to the area to try identify where the noise coming from, instead of just calling your guest randomly... this made me so angry and I have to say it almost ruined my holiday mood. the next day, we did complain to the reception in the morning, and the team promised to reflect to manager for a response to us.. however nothing happened, until in the late evening when 2 other people asked for our feedback (it's our last night) and we have to repeat what happened to us another 2 times. luckily the final staff immediately offered some proper apologise with some discount offer on our extras and a bottle of wines when we are back to our room. I think like many guests, the perfect holiday are made up by a lot of small things and details. and I do believe for Domes Elounda, they were capable to deliver a great service. We are all reasonable people and understand mistake could be made, but what's important is how the team handles these issue when unpleasant things happened. Finally I still want to make a compliment on the staff , as it's not always the case that they are seeking for feedback, before the guest left, although it's weird that we have been asked 2 times for the same type of feedback by different people...

Fantastic hotel, even greater staff and pure relaxation from the minute you step into the resort. Truly a ***** experience. We stayed for a week (with our 1y old) in the new CORE complex and accommodation and duration were perfect. Everyone, from the breakfast staff to the house keeping is truly kind and your child actually feels welcomed. Both pool and beach areas are great, well planned and the service at the water is perfect. I can recommend to book a transfer with the hotel, since the drive from Heraklion airport ist approx. one hour and it’s much more relaxing. We also booked a boat for a trip around the island and to s bay & the waters are crystal clear and it’s just fun to swim there. We had to switch our initial room because of a malfunction of an outdoor heater that was making loud noises during the night. The next room was next to a family that had some loud arguments with their children, which were kind of annoying because the CORE suits have a connecting door and you can pretty much hear your neighbors. But even that was not really a dent in the overall experience. My only recommendations to the hotel: 1. Sound Proof the connecting doors 2. Some change to the key card system because it was a bit of voodoo when they worked or not Thanks again to the team of Domes

We’ve just left Domes after a brilliant week. The hotel is gorgeous; fab beach. The family pool is absolutely huge and lovely temperature, our kids loved it. Kids club was a particular highlight. We’ve stayed in lots of top resorts with kids clubs but this one was extra special! Eleni, Louisa and all the team do a great job and our kids absolutely loved it. They went for a couple of hours every morning which gave the parents a chance to chill in the ‘quiet zone’ or adult pool, bliss!! The kids did activities like collecting vegetables in the hotel garden, science experiments etc, they also have movie nights with popcorn - just go the extra mile to make it really fun for the kids who couldn’t wait to go every morning. We also got a babysitter (ladies from the kids club) a couple of times so we could go for a bite to eat ourselves which was really great. Food is also really good; albeit we did find it got a bit repetitive (particularly the buffet breakfast) after a week and so went out a couple of times for meals which is easy to do. We particularly liked the Asian restaurant Yaosi and the beach restaurant. Particular shout out to Yiannis who was always super helpful and had a big smile on his face! Poke bowls at lunch on the beach were also a highlight, absolutely yum!! Also a great location for day trips - we got the speed boat to Plaka a couple of times for lunch and to Spinalonga (both 5 mins by boat) which is well worth doing. Also Elounda itself is a lovely little town and some great shops and restaurants (5 min taxi). Only negatives I would say were our room - we had a ‘garden view’ but in reality we were looking at the entrance to another room so we were a bit disappointed with that. Possibly worth upgrading to a sea view as the views are spectacular - particularly for chilling in the evenings. Also to be aware the resort is quite spread out and hilly. Reception, the beach, the adults pool etc are on one side of the resort and Core, the family pool, the outdoor gym etc are the other side - and it’s quite a hilly trek with kids! There are plenty of buggy’s around though to take you from one side to another; but you spend a bit of time moving around the resort. It’s also not cheap, drinks etc are quite pricey - but perhaps to be expected. Overall definitely recommend for a family break. We loved it! Kids had a ball and everyone relaxed. Great choice for good weather, good food, plenty to do and particularly if you have kids and looking for childcare options where they really have fun

Just finished another week at this gorgeous resort. It’s now our 6th time. The kids club in particular which is run by Eleni is brilliant. They are so flexible and our girls always have a brilliant time and make friends which in turn gives us a much needed break. We noticed in general the resort was much busier this year but the team were geared up for it, more club cars to get around and more staff on hand. Another brilliant trip and some gorgeous family photos to take home care of the photo studio on site.
