The hotel is perfectly located--walking distance to so many things. The room was comfortable and air conditioned and the included breakfast was extremely generous. The best part was the staff, however. I emailed with many questions beforehand and they were so gracious and helpful with recommendations and arrangements. (want to know a safe place to run? here you go. Need a car? tour guide? no problem, done.) The front desk staff was so lovely and helpful once we arrived. I had accidentally asked for a tour on the wrong day--no problem, they swapped the date and got us a fantastic tour guide. They were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome and cared for. Pro tip: if you're coming from the US, bring some Trader Joe's chocolate peanut butter cups for them, i did and got them hooked and they can't find them there. :)…
My husband, our daughter and I stayed at this hotel in Athens after a few-night stay on a Greek island. We found the hotel to be spotless, the service wonderful, and our room was much larger than expected. We had a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom with 2 king-sized beds. We were steps from excellent food, shopping, and historical sites. The gentleman at the front desk was so kind and helpful and we loved talking with him about where to eat, how to get to different parts of town, etc. I suggest brining ear plugs for street noise at night - it is mild but you can hear it (we also had just come from a secluded location on an island where noise was not an issue so may have been a bit sensitive to the "city noise" of Athens at night. I would recommend this hotel for couples, families, etc. You won't have better service elsewhere or a more modern room.…
Our stay at Met 34 was lovely. First and foremost I would like to commend the wonderful staff for being so accommodating and helpful. The rooms are quite lovely, large ,very nice decor, comfy bed and spacious bathroom. And I always appreciate it when hotels provide bathrobes. The breakfast is delivered to your door every morning at your convenience and provides everything you could possibly want, multiple types of bread and pastries, meats cheeses cereals, fresh fruit jams fresh milk and amazing freshly squeezed orange juice. Just what you need to fuel up for the day, which is good because the other great thing about this hotel is it's location. It is in the Plaka district which is clean and beautiful and safe. It is close to all those sites you must see, ( you must check out the hourly changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier at Parliament) and it is wonderful to just wander around the neighbourhoods. Oh and close to shopping. We spend a week in Paris at the end of our trip so I thought I would save my shopping for there and regretted it. The shops here have some wonderful products at very good prices. Really wished I had bought the leather bags I saw at the market down by Monastiraki square. But again it is the wonderful staff who helped make this trip as fabulous as it was.…
Nicholas and Natassa make this experience extraordinary! They are so warm, kind, efficient and knowledgeable. My husband injured his ankle and they helped us get to an emergency room, and then a medical supply store for a wheelchair. The rooms are so clean, sleek, and comfortable. We did not have any noise issues. The location is perfect for walking, and there are tons of places to eat and shop.
We recently stayed at the Met 34 as a family, we had a two bedroom suite and it was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the washrooms were beautifully done. The room itself was absolutely perfect, and the front desk staff were eager to help and kind. Our only issue was the noise, as mentioned in other reviews this is right in the heart of the city, and you can hear street noise all through the night. We were on the second floor, so maybe a higher floor would help but be mindful of this. Breakfast was delivered to our room each morning, and including some warm elements like eggs/bacon would be nice. Elsewhere in Greece we had a much nicer breakfast service but all in all the room was great for a family and in a good central location. Just be prepared for noise from the street and nearby construction.…
A very comfortable hotel with a superb staff. And what a fabulous location! We traveled with another couple, and we all loved being close to the Plaka district for shopping and dining and access to sites. Would highly recommend this hotel!
This is a wonderful location and the hotel room is very spacious. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well! I would highly recommend staying here. You also get breakfast included. Also it was quiet for sleeping and you have a ton of room.
Well modern designed rooms and very clean. The hotel is in amazing location in a small and quiet street. The team is very warm. We chose to stay in the MET twice already and would definitely come back. The team is always there, doing their best to help.
By far the best thing about Met34 was it's location. It's within walking distance of all of the major attractions, several good restaurants and a few nice bars. We stayed in the Metropolis Suite, which was very large in size with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room. There were only two of us staying but it would be more than adequate for a family sharing. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the room was full of all the mod cons we needed for our stay. We had breakfast delivered to our room each day which was a nice touch and the staff at the hotel are lovely. The one problem we had, and it was quite a big problem, was the noise. The windows are anything but double glazed, so if you are staying over the weekend you can expect loud music and traffic noise into the early hours. We could just about deal with this, but what was incredibly frustrating was the building work that started at 7am every day next door to our room. We were left a little put out as this was not listed on the hotels website. Had it been listed we certainly wouldn't have made the reservation. All in all a good hotel with friendly staff, but don't stay in the Metropolis Suite if you're a light sleeper.…
I stayed here with my husband and 3 children, the location was fantastic, right in the heart of the city. Transport to the surrounding historic sites was excellent, we walked most places but could of made use of the local bus and trams. Every single member of staff made us feel very welcome, nothing was to much bother. The staff are very knowledgeable of the local area and always willing to offer advice and directions. The room was spacious, very clean and designed with ease in mind. Our bed was very comfortable, the pillows were lovely and soft but big and fluffy at the same time. The sheets felt luxurious and the dressing gowns a added bonus. Breakfast is brought up to your room at your convenience, it was full of delicious treats and more than enough to feed a few adults. The walk in shower was probably my favourite thing about the room, it added that luxury touch to our trip. The noise from the street was a little loud at times but we expected that from such a central location, my 1 year old was never woken by it so it wasn't a problem. Overall we had a fantastic stay here, I'm already planning a trip back, this time without my children 😂…
