Good value for money, good and inexpensive breakfast, clean and nice rooms, nice rooftop and view, friendly staff, ok/good internet connection in most rooms. only one power outlet in our room, but I have stayed in another room there earlier with more outlets.

We slept there for three days, the room was clean and okey. The breakfast was cheap compared to other options in the area, but they only got cheese and bread, no option if you're gluten intolerant or simply don't like bread. The Coffey was good though :)

I don't often leave 2 star reviews for places, but here goes. I'll start with the good stuff - the location is great for the Acropolis although super touristy area (avoid the very close by restaurants for better value and better food a bit further away!) The staff were lovely and welcoming. A lift which is useful if you have...

A truly great location. The hotel is located on the way up the hill to the Acropolis. Reasonably priced. Good restaurants in the area. Some have live music. Nice plaza in front of the hotel Staff are friendly and can give good advice about what to see and do in Athens.

Basic hotel for reasonable price right in the middle of things. We had room 323 which has a shower on the hallway but sink in the room. It came with a nice balcony from which you could see Acropolis. All were clean. Reception is mostly just doing their job, except the lady in the morning which was very friendly.

We only stayed here one night and had the room at the front with the big balcony. The room was clean and warm and the shower/toilet in our room was modern and there was plenty of hot water. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location excellent!! The only reason I have not given this hotel a 5 rating...

We stayed only 1 night in this hotel, but we regret having not stayed longer! It is quiet, friendly, family run hotel, ideally located right in the center of the scenic area of Plaka, 200 m from Acropolis Metro Station. The hotel has the roof terrace with a panoramic view of the Acropolis and Athens city. Some rooms have balconies...

Pluses: - Perfect location. The hotel is located very close to Acropolis, and is at a distance of 200 m to the metro station. - Very quiet except for occasional street noises. - Daily room cleaning is offered. - The staff are kind, warm and friendly. - The room temperature was ideal (regulated at 23-25 C) for winter - It...

The primary reason to stay at Hotel Phaedra is its location. It's just a few minutes from the Acropolis and is in a good central location. It is clean and not too expensive for such a well-situated hotel. The service is friendly (though sometimes the manager on duty didn't speak English well enough for me to communicate easily). The main...

We stayed 3 nights in this friendly basic family run hotel. We chose a room with private bathroom at a slightly higher but still very reasonable rate for this excellent location. The hotel is ideally located for exploring Athens. Our long narrow balcony opened onto a view of the Acropolis on one side and a lovely quiet square with church...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
