We chose this hotel because it was close to the centre of the Plaka area and Syntagma Square and we couldn't have chosen better! The staff are so friendly and the service was excellent, nothing was a problem from providing a key when the card became demagnetised, and ordering taxis to advice on what to do in and around the...

Specifically booked this hotel through a booking website as it stated that an airport shuttle operated from the hotel, however this is not the case. That said, the hotel is very clean and fantastically located with helpful and friendly staff.

The hotel is just 5 minutes walking from the city centre and 50 meters from the cathedral. The staff is ready to help you at any moment. The rooms are clean, new and well equipped. it is a perfect location to discover Athens for a good price for value option.

Excellent budget hotel couldn't be more central between Syntagma square and Plaka. Comfortable bed and a good modern shower. Room spotlessly clean. Helpful staff. No on-site restaurant but surrounded by little cafes. Suited us perfectly for our 3 night stay.

Before I forget, their names are Elina and Gregoire. The best team I have ever seem running a hotel and we have been travelling for many years and been to a lot of hotels. Emails replied just about instantly, you don't get that even with a 5 star hotel. If you need ANYTHING Elina and Gregoire can fix and will...

We had a suite with an Acropolis View the first three nights, on the rooftop terrace. The rooftop terrace had comfortable tables and chairs. We enjoyed the view at night, of the lighted Acropolis. The suite was spacious, well equipped and clean. There are only stairs in this hotel, but not difficult to reach the rooftop. We went on a...

I stayed in double room and was very satisfied with room service. Employees at hotel were pleasant, atmosphere in hotel was positive, accommodation was on high level. Commendable hotel with good service and price. This hotel is located nearby the most famous sights of the city. Perhaps this would be the most important thing in this hotel which makes it...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
