Our room was large enough for the two of us, the beds were comfortable and clean, the bath and shower facilities were what we needed. Breakfast (breads, jam, coffee, fruit juice) was basic but good quality. Above all, the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel is three minutes walk from Omonia, and central for just about everything -...

The only good thing was the location and the low fares. I asked to a silent room and they gave us a room on the 1st floor and to the street, beside the breakfast room. The street was very busy making the sleep terrible. The room seemed a little dirty and everything looks very old. The breakfast was ridiculous, only...

This hotel provided just the bare minimum. Highly uncomfortable beds were you could feel each individual spring, awkward shower with inadequate shower curtain flooding the bathroom, very poor breakfast. If you are just looking for a clean place to sleep, you will be fine. Take any further expectations somewhere else!

Surrounding Area isnt that good for tourists to have a 1st,2nd or 100th view of Athens due to many immigrants ,homless, prostitutes and drug addicts. Yet again ,it is close to Omonoia and the metro station ,close to Athens Market and Monastiraki and all means of transport. Room was very basic but nevertheless clean. Staff was polite enough and available no...

The district is not the safe one (many homeless, anarchists and so on) Breakfast was more than poor - only jam and bread (the worst hotel breakfast I have ever seen). Room wasn't clear and there was lack of fresh air. Actually, you get what you pay for. But better I'd payed a bit more and did not rely on...

It is near Omania square and metro. Reasonable price. Clean. Staff are friendly and very helpfull. It is near the main road but silent. You may reach the historical parts by walking. Breakfast time is a little late.

Diros hotel is a really good choice in Athens. It’s located about ten minutes from Monastiraki market, Plaka, Acropolis. It’s a big hotel. Rooms are OK. It’s clean and it has good service. And with very good price!

Rooms were nice.. You might find some spots of wine on blinds or the bed sheets. The bed were very confortable, we had a nice view of the Acropolis from the fifth floor (comes with a small patio). We went there one night and it was 20 euros and the next day we went (for the same room) the price...

We paid just 20 Euros per night for a lovely, clean room, with FREE air conditioning (unusual in many hotels of this price) It's a good location because it's so close to the Metro and within easy walking distance to many attractions as well as the financial sector. Very friendly, helpful staff. If there was a drawback it would e...

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
