A 4 stars modern hotel near public transport. Excellent breakfast. Clean rooms. Polite staff. Good restaurant. with an impressive view of the Parthenon though food choices were limited and closes rather early Would recommend it.

Excellent Hotel. Nice staff. The rooms are very clean. The breakfast buffet is so generous with a variety of food. And the location is in the city center with a lot of walking distances sites. I highly recommend this Hotel.

The service was excellent and they were only too pleased to answer any questions we had regarding the hotel and the attractions of Athens. From our room we could see the Parthenon, absolutely stunning at night. Breakfast was perfect.

We visited Athens with a group and this hotel was very suitable. The food was good and breakfast had very good variety. The staff were most helpful and friendly. The location is close to the archaeological museum - one of the finest in the world. Everything else is nearby.

Clean property, friendly staff, and a good restaurant. While at a first glance the hotel surrounds may not seem to the best in Athens, however one can walk in less than 5 minutes the nearest metro station (Omonia) or in just 15 minutes to Syntagma square. All in all a very good value for money. If you want to sleep... More

The location is great, the facilities are excellent, the staff are professional and courteous. It is a very short walking distance to the Omonia Square where you can catch the tour bus companies and many wonderful shops and bakeries.

Staying at the Polis Grand was fantastic. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and the staff was VERY accommodating. One day when it was raining the front desk was able to lend us an umbrella. Another time we had a two day gap where we were staying in Santorini. We ended up back at the hotel at 12am and... More

My husband and I arrived in Athens the second week of October and we stayed a total of 3 nights. The lobby is modern and the reception staff is helpful and accommodating. The rooms were clean and had all the basic amenities. We had a corner room with a balcony but unfortunately the view wasn't' the greatest. I did appreciate... More

The hotel was very nice for our stay in Athens. The shower was very powerful, comfortable beds, the breakfast is very good and has a very nice atmosphere. The only downside the window we had in our room was to a shaft, however there is rooms with balcony and maybe window with views I would recommend taking that if your... More

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
