We found a bed bug in my bed, were covered in itchy bites (20+ bites a person), and had to clean or throw out our stuff at personal expense. They have not responded to our email (we emailed the address they use for reservations). We weren't very demanding -- we asked for a refund of our stay and that they...

Best place and location for the money you pay. Best location in the heart of Athens, close to everything. Good staff, great owner. Wifi for free, laundry upstairs and a chill out place on the rooftop. What more can you ask for the money ?

WiFi was terrible , hostel had no atmosphere, one staff member was very rude. Room was ok but facilities in general were very poor. Bathrooms were filthy at all times, showers were sub-par. I would not recommend this hostel, despite the cheap price.

Had almost no issues at this hostel staying in an 8 person mixed dorm. Wi-Fi however was shocking - would barely work in the rooms and frequently you'd see guests sitting on the steps outside their rooms just to get reception. The common area has slightly better speed so is a good excuse to socialise. Rooms are spacious, beds comfortable....

The location is good to walk around and the staff is also friendly. And it's clean. For facilities, they offered air conditioner. But the sockets in the room is not enough, only 2 in 4 bed mixed dorm and there is no personal light for each bed. There is no wifi connection in the room, you need to stay close...

I just needed a place for one or two nights and picked this for location and price. I'm surprised at some of the reviews that it's terrible/dirty/etc - must be flashpackers or high maintenance. People are complaining about shared bathrooms - come on, you know what you're getting into. You pay for what you get - if you want an...

The price and location was good. Only a short walk to the main square, flea market and train station. The staff were nice and the room was relatively clean. Make sure to bring sandals for the shower because they're individual, communal showers down the hallway from our room (like most hostels).

Very dirty ( below the beds it was not cleaned), bed sheets too small, black and dirty mattrasses and pillows. Communal areas very dirty ( toilets and showers as well) at the point I did not dare take a shower over there... Good if you just want to crash for a night, but even though... In front of it there...

It was an uncomfortable experience for me, as there were only shared toilets and bathrooms, which also looked terrible. The air-condition didn't work properly the most of the time. Also, we had a lot of noise from other people in the hostel. From the windows we had for view only buildings and no light at all. We tried many times...

In my 30 first minutes, I was bitten 4 times by bed-bugs. The staff was friendly, They changed me to another room but They didn't care about. After cleaning my clothes, everything was ok. The localitation is good and They have a nice roof but having bed-bugs around is a serious problem.

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
