We came across Fivos Hotel because our hotel was overbooked and they had reserved a "same quality room" in Fivos Hotel "to make us happy" - didn't work at all. To be fair I just describe what I have seen and don't compare it to the hotel we had originally booked. I think Fivos is more like a cheap hostel...

Upon arrival to Hotel Fivos, we were pleasantly surprised by the kind and helpful reception staff who were very fluent in English and were happy to help us, even considering it was 3 o'clock in the morning. Prior to our visit, we had been in contact with the reception staff and they had again been very helpful and responsive, providing...

staff is great and friendly but overall its a very mediocre place. Nothing great about it. But location is great, right in the center and very close to main attractions of the city. Breakfast was very basic.

It is conveniently located in the heart of monastiraki, which made visiting all the major sites very easy and accessible by foot. Also, the staff were wonderful; they were friendly, helpful and very approachable. Clean towels were provided everyday, which was great. Also the price of the room was very reasonable. Now for the downsides. We stayed in room 13,...

I stayed at Fivos for 4 nights. The air condition ping was broken, so the windows had to be kept open but didn't make a difference. The traffic was really noisey outside, but can't be helped because of the location. Closing the windows helped a little, but then you cooked. Showers we always flooding and slowly draining water. Room was...

My boyfriend, me and two more friends stayed there for 2 nights then we went to Mykonos and Santorini. Before we check-out we asked the guy on the reception to store our luggage for half day when we come back from santorini because we would arrive on the morning and then go to Zakynthos by flight at night. He said...

Stayed here for two nights in April and it was exactly what we needed in a hotel. The location in Athens is almost unbeatable, from being next door to the metro, and 10-15 minute walk to the Acropolis. Room/ bathroom was very clean. Breakfast was good as well. Would recommend.

When I've booked my flight tickets to Athens, I've started to look for some hostels. Hotel Fivos was one of the places that attracted my attention. I've read the reviews on TripAdvisor, which were very confusing, but I gave it a chance. I've booked one double room with own bedroom by e-mail. The response from hotel was very fast and...

Soooo noisy. Had a room on the street we had little sleep due to traffic and people all night. Also dirty because it's old. Breakfast was fine, just basics like coffee, bread, boiled eggs, jam. It was free. Staff not that good. Really unhelpful when dealing with my lost phone and giving directions. Would not stay again.

We were looking for a reasonable hotel to stay in Athens. Fivos Hotel is located strategically to all touristic attractions within a walking distance. Nearby restaurants and market. All a stone throw away. One thing is if you have massive roller-tyre like luggage, you might have to use that extra strength to carry them up to your room. They have...

Staying in Monastiraki

Neighbourhood Profile
Monastiraki
Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a difference. Apart from the dramatic backdrop of the Acropolis, its network of alleys and pedestrianized streets surround the remains of both the Greek and Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki Square is a lively spot by day or night, with street peddlers vying for your attention to sell you nuts and sweets. Down beside the metro station, the official Flea Market is an unbroken row of souvenir shops until you come to antique-oriented Platia Avissinias, while Pandrossou Street on the other side of the square offers more tourist shopping. The pedestrianized street beside the Greek Agora is lined with cafés offering fine views.
