The hotel is central to everything, and it is absolutely gorgeous! The restaurant has wonderful views of the Acropolis. The staff was so accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed! You can catch a cab at any time of the day (even at 3:00am to the airport). You must stay there in Athens!

Was impressed with the hotel, especially the location which was convenient to the Acropolis museum and lots of great restaurants. Furnishings were luxurious and ervice level very high. I think my favorite thing was breakfast with a stunning view of the Acropolis.

Its a business hotel basically. So it has got all your usually business hotel standard, quiet and classy. They are very professional but I guess it could feel a little "cold" if you come with family ? it has a wonderful location. It's just next to the Parliament House where you can watch the changing of Guards at an hourly...

I visited this hotel with my partner for a long weekend at the beginning of October. Upon arriving we were greeted by incredibly attentive staff and a room upgrade - so far so good! We checked into our beautiful room with views over the square and fountain directly across from us, the mini bar was well packed with chocolates, water...

Very classy and upscale. One of the best views in Athens if you can ask for a good view in this mixed city. Very attentive service, perfect dining and design. Classic choice for people who want to feel the atmosphere of the golden time of the beginning of the 20th the century.

This hotel is next door to the iconic Grande Bretagne and is under the same ownership and management. King George is at least equally good, but priced slightly less. Every experience at this hotel was wonderful, including front desk staff, concierge and quite frankly everywhere you went in the hotel. Our room was upgraded, and was quite palacial with Lalique...

We had a wonderful stay at The King George Hotel in Athens. We wanted to get past our usual live out of a backpack, stay in a cheap hotel, have fun staying on a budget trip. We wanted a luxurious stay and we got one. They effortlessly picked us up very late at night in Piraeus and transferred us to...

Good location. About a 10-15 minute walk to many tourist destinations. The room was fantastic, nice and roomy. Did not have a room overlooking the square, so it was quiet at night. Good SPG Platinum upgrade to a 2 room suite. Big bath area, nice tub. Separate dressing area. Great bath amenities. Staff very attentive, always quick to respond to...

This hotel is centrally located on Syntagma Square by Parliament. We upgraded to a larger room. Not much of a view but the beds and furnishings were classic and comfortable. The bathrooms were split: one room with a sink and tub/shower combination and one room with a sink and toilet. A huge breakfast buffet was included in the price. It...

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
