Arrived in Athens late after a long journey. Room like a cell block, filthy pillows and stained and marked mattresses. Air con not even included and noisy with a rancid view of a decaying building. Tried to explain the filth to the night man and he gave us clean sheets and still damp pillowcases which we used to double up...

The place is horrible! Dirty and infested with cockroaches and bed bugs! I know it's cheap, I wasn't expecting luxury, just a place to spend the night after walking around the city. But one expects a basic level of cleanliness and they don't met that expectation at all!! They leave a nice soap bar alongside a couple of cockroach's feet...

Dirty rooms, broken heating, dirty toilet, poor drainage, pathetic staff, bedbugs. I think hotel room rate should not be more than 5 euros per night. Only good thing it is situated at center of Omonia square. Please do not pay rent for whole trip at once. We were lucky as we paid for single night. Next morning we move to...

Situated right about 50 m across the Omonia metro station, very creepy area at night, but cute and pretty active by day, creepy reception, the desk men speaks no english at all, as i couldn't find them so i called to ask for directions but all he could do is yell "yes, this is alma"...first two...

Bedbugs everywhere!! I went there with a friend for two days and was a nightmare, my friend still suffers from skin allergy after a month. The reception men were really bad behaved people. And DON'T get attracted from the low price, after you will pay the x4 amount to get rid of the bugs!!! Moreover, the neighborhood is really dangerous!!

this ranks as one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. I've never had a major problem with hotels over the years I've been travelling but this was the low point. The guy at reception was gruff and could barely speak English. He then said I had to pay 5 euro a night extra for air conditioning because it...

Great money value. Clean room with AC, fridge, TV, clean bathroom, towels and a maid who cleaned the room almost every day. Great location, 2 minutes from Omonoia Metro Station, a non stop kiosk and loads of coffee shops and bakeries in the Omonoia Square. Non stop reception, there is also a common kitchen and relaxing area but it wasn't...

A nightmare! Pillowcases stink of smoke and dirt, dirty blankets and sheets...smelly room and air conditioning not working. We decided for this Hotel just because the one we usually book was full..same price enormous difference in quality. It's just in a central square. Big mistake. Breakfast was not included...I'd say fortunately..

Stayed in one of their rooms which was infested with bed bugs. The man at reception was hostile, didn't even apologise. He charged us 10 euros extra for arriving an hour early too. I ended up squatting in an empty apartment after this experience and it was way better than sleeping in this hell hole

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
