The hotel is located in the heart of Athens, in Plaka area, very close to Acropolis and walking distance to major downtown locations. The hotel is small, rooms and bathroom facilities are tiny too. However everything is clean and well maintained, the staff are very nice and helpful. The towels and linen were clean and fresh. The floor was nice...

We spent three nights here. The rooms are tiny, including the bathroom with water faucets nearly on the floor. The walls are paper thin so every noise is heard from those who arrive and enter the elevator and walk down the halls to their room. But the worst part is the uncomfortable bed, with sori ha that stab you. It...

We paid 10 euros extra for a room on the 4th floor with a balcony and a view of Acropolis Hill. The view and balcony were great, but the rest of our room was rather lacking. It was a cramped room with a cruise-ship-sized-bathroom. We've traveled all around Europe and aren't surprised by small bathrooms, but this bathroom is definitely...

We stayed at the Adonis on a recommendation from a family member. It isn't a flash hotel but it is clean and there is plenty of room in the rooms and on the balcony. The staff go out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast on the rooftop looking straight at the Acropolis and the Parthenon, to the left at...

Thought from experience that this hotel although well positioned was overpriced. The bathroom shower like many in hotels was small and difficult to move about in and I am a slim person. The room was just average bed and pillows very firm and not comfortable. No safe in room and was told when checking in that final payment would need to...

My husband and I had a double room with a TINY shower cubicle but, by the time we returned to this hotel after a couple of weeks in the islands, we worked out that a lot of Greek bathrooms are small and the shower works best if you hand-hold the shower head. Apart from this the rooms were fine, the...

Let me start with the positives...location location! And you won't find a better view of the Acropolis from your breakfast table. Unfortunately there are a few things that the wonderful location could not make up for and would divert me from staying at this budget hotel again. These things could have easily been improved by the owners. The first was...

Hotel very well situated in Plaka, close to Syntagma square (5 minutes walking approx.). Of course, this is not a luxury hotel; in fact it is an old hotel with old and small rooms a very small bathroom, but no expensive. Nevertheless, if you are interested to visit Athens, it is a good choice based on the very well location...

The hotel was good value for money. Keep in mind that they ask for cash instead of card. The view of the Acropolis from the terrace was amazing especially at night. They have a 10:30pm closing time upstairs which we found hard to leave as we were just settling in with some ouzo and cards but completely understandable for the...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
