you cannot beat the location of this hotel--it within walking distance of all major sites, and in the beautiful Plaka neighborhood. great restaurants and shopping right out your door (Scholarhio is the BEST). we found it to be perfectly suited for what we needed. it is not fancy but is very clean and comfortable. although small, there is plenty of... My friend and I stayed only one night at the Adrian Hotel. It's very clean, the reception staff were extremely helpful, great views of the Acroplis from the roof garden! The location is great, but a little confusing to get to from the closest metro station. The breakfast was yummy, they had free wifi, we had a little balcony overlooking... More

Here's some serious advice to all those stating in Athens. Location for me is everything and this hotel is right in the centre of the Plaka district, which in my opinion is the only area you want to be in when in Athens. The rooms aren't terribly big, but they have the best breakfasts on an outdoor terrace that overlooks... More

The Adrian Hotel was a great place to start our travels in Greece. The hotel has a great location in the heart of the Plaka on famous Adrianou Street. Some rooms have a view of the Acropolis and others do not. Those that don't might not have a great view period, but you really shouldn't be spending too much time... More

Very ordinary hotel for the price we paid, it was old, the rooms smelled and ridiculously overpriced. This was more a 2 star than 3 star. Bathroom was old and I preferred not to shower than to step inside the bath. It is in a good location (walking distance to the Acropolis). This is more a €60 per night 2... More

We finished a cruise and were looking for a clean, quite, not overpriced hotel, located convenient to all the attractions. The Adrian Hotel was located right in the action of the Paka. Walking distance to the Acropolis, Acropolis museum, and a lot of attractions. Not a fancy hotel, (could use some bathroom renovations), but clean, quite, air conditioned and very... More

We chose this hotel for the first two nights of our honeymoon. The booking was done through AAA and we thoroughly reviewed the reviews on tripadvisor before selecting the Adrian. We were not expecting or hoping for much - something like a Motel 6 or Comfort Inn was all. We had saved our money and expectations for the islands. But... More

Good location, great neighbourhood. Small hotel, small rooms and very small bathrooms. But clean and comfortable. Free WiFi. Friendly helpful staff. Good well stocked breakfast buffet on roof with great view of the Acropolis a few hundred yards away. Elevator one person plus luggage, bathrooms tiny but everything is modern and works. But it's an old building in an ancient... More

The view of the Parthenon/Acropolis from the rooftop at breakfast is what made it worth staying at this hotel. The rooms were small and bathrooms smaller, although we ae spoiled by American standards. The breakfast was excellent, providing breakfast choices from many different cultures. There is are a couple outdoor park type restaurants across the street that are acceptable but... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
