I stayed in this hostel for 2 nights well by choosing an accommodation that would be cheap and close to the major monuments in Athens attractions. Well this was a perfect choice, I chose the double beds room but remember that the bathroom was shared but in front of my room. Score 10 for the location , the distance is...

Dads local stomping ground. An ecentric place with an eccentric owner. My bunk room had been conveyed from I'm guess a bathroom as there was a soap holder on my tiled walls beside my head when lying on my bunk bed. Good location. You get what you pay for. Breaky included etc :) hostel not hotel though! Good Christmas trip...

My room was freezing and smelt of old cigarette smoke; the faded linens were kind of dirty; the only outlet was four feet up the far wall; and the rest of the grotty furniture looked like it came out of the Salvation Army reject pile. The Wi-Fi was so weak as to be unusable and there was no soap in...

The hostel is very good to visit athens, is near all the tourist places, clean rooms and a nice breakfast for the price that you pay! My time there was great! The staffs are very friendly! They gave me a map and show me all places I must saw! I recommend!

This is a great place to stay! The staff are super friendly and more then willing to sit and chat with you! The breakfast is really lovely! The kitchen is clean and they have everything you need to cook your own meals. It's right in the centre of all the ancient sites and about a 5min walk to the closest...

The hostel is located in Plaka, right beside the Acropolis and many other must see attractions. It's very basic: slightly lumpy beds, weak shower, no air con (in our room anyway) etc. but if you plan on only sleeping there, it's definitely worth it. The staff, for the most part, were very friendly and accommodating. I doubt you'll be able...

The hostel is located in the best part of the Athens, very close to main sites and we felt very safe. We stayed there for three nights and we liked it. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is simple but nice and great value.

My friend & I stayed here for two nights, which was two too many! This hostels facilities are basic at best. Shower is super small. They claim to have air conditioning but they are set on a 20 minute timer & you do not get access to the remote. Have to go down to reception & ask staff to put...

Hostel located very close to the city centre, to all the important sites in town and the metro. The only advantage of this accommodation. We paid 40 EUR per night in the end of August for a double room. The room had an adequate size and an average bed. No balcony or terrace, but air con is provided. You don't...

I absolutely loved my experience at Dioskouros Hotel! It is simple, but with a great location and price. The area is very safe and many of the major historic sites are at a 5-10 min walk. The metro station is close by, too. The hostel wasn't very busy when we visited it, so it was nice and quiet. Our room...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
