In total, we stayed here 5 nights...a quaint and smaller hotel, located in the Plaka section of Athens. The perfect location...with a million dollar view of the Acropolis. Rooms are very comfortable...bathrooms small, but clean and efficient. Beds and pillows are comfy. The air conditioning works beautifully and we were grateful as temperatures were over 100 degrees on several days....

Hotel has a perfect location - just 50m from entrance to Acropolis and just "meters"from many bars, restaurants and shops. I must say thank you to staff, especially Lady in the breakfast bar who made a Birthday gift surprise to us :)))) The only 2 disadvantages - especially when u stay with kid are noisy toilets and very noisy beds...

I have lived in Greece for a year and traveled extensively throughout the country so I am very much aware of typical Greek accommodations. I booked through booking. A genius perk of booking this hotel is a welcome drink, which did not happen. Not a big deal but we were barely greeted upon our arrival. The location of the hotel...

The Byron is centrally located on Plaka. Good accomodations at the right price. Excellent terrace for night view of the Acropolis sharing drinks with friends. Clean rooms and friendly advice by the staff on attractions. Want a good return on your money? Stay at the Byron.

The Byron Hotel is a simple hotel in an excellent situation looking up at the Acropolis. The rooms are unsophisticated but clean and comfortable; there is a delightful roof garden with amazing views where one can get drinks and where breakfast is served, The staff are very friendly and helpful and I felt very fortunate that I had had this...

This simple family run hotel is on Vyronos, just round the corner from the Acropolis Museum. It is within easy walking distance of all the best sights of central Athens. The view of the Acropolis rom the bar on the roof is impressive. Take a room with a balcony at the front of the hotel if you can. They are...

Do not be fooled by the extremely central location. Staff here are very unhelpful and are quick to shrug away responsibilities. Hotel staff refused to return our Deposit and kept asking us to use the strikes as an excuse to claim the deposit from our insurance company.

The hotel is on a nice location but rooms are not as described. They are supposed to have wifi but our room did not. It was a triple room with only two plaques inside the room. It was dirty and the little back yard was neglected. When we complain to the man at the reception about it he insulted us...

This hotel is in the middle of the Plaka, 5 mins walking to the Acropolis and just in front of a metro station: it's the ideal location for any turist going to Athens. The quality is quite for the price (only 40€ per night). The only limitation was that the room was a bit small than the European standard, but...

Great localisation in the heart of Athens! Very quiet area. Nice personel and quite clean room. The restaurant on the top of hotel has very nice view of the Acropolis. Very good price to the offer. Squeaky beds. The shower very narrow and not encouraged to use. In the evening the radiators sometimes weren't warm (February), and the room was...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
