The Attalos is a small hotel in a super walkable location. The staff is really nice and friendly. But that's about it. The rooms are run down and beyond dated. Holes in the walls, broken sinks, TINY showers, broken tiles, only one power outlet. And it's STILL expensive. Oh, and the elevator is really sketchy.

Stayed 1 week. Really good buffet Greek breakfast - kept us going until evening time. Had internal room so no good view but this meant it was very quiet - heard no outside noise at all. Hotel was spotless. Breakfast area constantly monitored and kept clean. All the staff were very friendly and reception staff very helpful in sorting out...

Dear alanaplin , Thank you for staying with us and for your wonderful review. This is what gives us motivation to get better and try harder. We are glad you liked the hotel , our traditional greek breakfast and found the staff helpful. Our rooftop bar is the perfect place to end the day with a drink while overlooking Acropolis...

I stayed here for one night and loved it. The location is so convieniant (100m from Monastiraki metro) and easy to get around, the roof top bar has the most spectacular view of the Acropolis and it is around the corner from a great eating area. I want to say a very big thank you to Yannis (John) on the...

We stayed at this hotel as part of a family gathering in Athens as it had been recommended to us. First the positives. The location in Central Athens is great for transport. Monistiraki rail station is only yards away and the main tourist areas of the Plaka and the Acropolis are easily walkable. In the streets right behind the hotel...

This is a great place to stay, right in the centre of Athens. There are many delightful cafes nearby. Reception was friendly and helpful, the roof top bar had great views of the Acropolis and we enjoyed free drinks between 11.00 and 4.00. We appreciated the fridge in our room. Good value all round!

The Attalos has a super location just up from the main square. All major tourist attractions are within walking distance. The room was good but the best feature is the roof garden bar which boasts a superb view of the Parthenon and friendly staff.

The location couldn`t be better. Walking distance to almost everything worth seeing. The rooms were clean and quiet (we had an inside room, no traffic noise). Breakfast was good and enough. Very friendly staff.

Modern clean bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. THE most comfortable beds, pillows and luxurious linen. We had a quiet back room opening onto a balcony with a lovely view of the Acropolis. Hotel is well located to everything, surrounded by lovely eating places and markets within easy walking distance. We had booked a value for money three star hotel with low...

The Attalos is a real gem. Located close to just about everything - the ancient sites, the Flea Market, Monastraki Square, great restaurants etc. Greeted by the unflappable Maria who seems to manage everything without batting an eyelid we were soon in our room. To our delight we had a clear view of the Acropolis from our balcony, which is...

The Attalos Hotel is a fantastic hotel to stay at while traveling in Athens. My family stayed here numerous times during our stay in Greece and I would not hesitate to re-book when I return. The rooms were clean and the hotel was quiet. The roof top patio/bar area was wonderful to sit at in the night to enjoy a...

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
