We stayed at the Acropolis view hotel for three nights before we went onto Skopelos island for the rest of our holiday. The hotel is very well located in a quite street but very close to both the Acropolis and the the center of Athens. The rooms are clean and well maintained but the highlight is the view from the...

We stayed 2 night at this hotel and had a nice stay. Our room was at the opposite side of the acropolis and turned out to be quite noisy. We did, however, sleep with the door open because we could not figure out the AC. It rained that night, so the cool and the sound of rain was pleasant enough...

Location is fantastic as it's short walk to most tourist attractions. Service was fair, we had to take our luggage up to the room ourselves because there was no one except the receptionist. The card payment I made at the time of booking was apparently declined by the bank, but I wasn't informed about it by the hotel even after...

The hotel is very close to the acropolis,so the locations amazing. Breakfast is very good, you actually have a variety of food items. Room was clean, space was fine, bathroom was ok too. The hotel itself is good from the inside, loved the terrace view. It's great value for the price we paid, so I'd recommend this hotel. PS we...

We spent two nights there at the end of April 2013. Room small, clean, without any special view. Breakfast simple, go early to get yoghurt (quickly disappears), they do not re-fill a bowl. Hotel has a great location, at the foot of Acropolis, short walk to Plaka. Superb roof terrace with the view at Acropolis. They do not have any...

My husband and I had a great 3-day stay at the Acropolis View Hotel (May 17-20, 2013). The room was simple, very clean, with ample closet space, and had a very comfortable bathroom. Breakfast buffet had a lot to offer. The hotel staff were knowledgeable, hospitable and patient. Although our room did not have a balcony, that was easily alleviated...

We had two nights here and found it a very good budget hotel, the rooms clean, comfortable beds, and a decent breakfast. Our room was one of the cheaper ones without a real view, but we thought it was good value. The truly amazing plus point was on the roof terrace. We emerged from the lift to find the Acropolis before...

I stayed in room 407. The balcony looked toward the acropolis, and had 2 chairs and the morning sun. The room itself was spotlessly clean, and the beds comfortable. The fridge in the room was nice to have. Free wifi was available throughout the hotel and in my room. The bathroom included a hair dryer and great water pressure. I...

My girlfriend and I stayed here in May 2013 and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap hotel in a great location. The best thing about this hotel is its location, not too far from the metro, restaurants and most major attractions as well as offering some of the best views in town. The rooftop terrace is open...

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
