A fine hotel. Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms. We were at the end of a month long trip, and had a few things we wanted to do in Athens, but wanted to relax as well. This was a great place to stay for all we wanted.

Stayed for two nights. Room was small but very clean. Walls are not soundproof at all just a warning!! It's in a great and accessible location with a beautiful rooftop. Kind and helpful staff and lots of options for breakfast. Loved the shower in our room, made everything better.

Booked a room 'with a view' and had zero complaints. Clean walls and floors, a comfortable two-person bed, a balcony with a great view at the Acropolis and a wonderful overlook from the rooftop on the southern part of Athens. The hotel has an elevator, there's a free WiFi internet connection (great signal at the room) and the people running...

The hotel is very accessible/near to the Acropolis with a great view of it at the top. It is also near to other touristic spots, restaurants and public transportation. The staff are accommodating and helpful. The room is nice and clean although a little noisy because it is not soundproof.

What I like: The property has a best location. It has a terrace which is open 24 hours looking the Parathion. You can have good view of Athens from the terrace. Accessible and walkable distance from Train station and most of the famous places are walkable. Rooms are clean and the staff was very courteous. I have to book a...

When you go to Athens you've got 2 choices you stay closer to the centre or the older part of the city where you have the Parthenon, If you're staying in the old part of the city then I strongly recommend this hotel. The hotel is not big, 5 floors, the rooms have 2 or 3 single beds, TV, AC....

The hotel is small but very clean and at a great location. The view of Acropolis from the roof is amazing. The breakfast is basic but good enough. The best thing is very friendly and helpful staff who make sure they guide you as best as possible. Overall it is very good value for the money.

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
