yes the rooms have AC and ours was nice and quiet. we went in the cooler season - may will be a bit warmer
The location is quiet I'd say. The area around the acropolis (Plaka) is noisier - we stayed there a couple of nights. however there are way more restaurants in the Plaka area. there are plenty of restaurants around the Stanley but not as elegent as in Plaka.
Walking distance to the Acropolis is about 20 minutes at a good pace. there are a couple of very nice streets/ lane ways with no traffic just outside the hotel when you cross Achilles avenue
the subway is right out front on the square and the hop bus stop is there also.
the roof top restaurant is has a very nice view and the Acropolis looks better from a distance after visiting and seeing all the rubble!
I also had the most tasty lamb chops ever on the roof top restaurant.
