Amalia is very conveniently located, just a few metres away from Syntagma square and the Greek parliament. Rooms are spacious and clean with good size beds and bathrooms. We were troubled a bit by the traffic at night as we were on the first floor, but got used to it. The reception staff was very helpful in helping us contact...

Right next to the Changing of The Guards, Plaka, taxi, bus stop, and metro. OMG, you couldn't find a better location if I'd tried. Restaurants galore just a half block away. Be sure to go to the top floor, floor 7, to get an INCREDIBLE view of the Acropolis and city. The breakfast buffet was beyond fabulous. Waiters were very...

If your taking be train into Athens from the airport, this location can't be beat. Friendly, professional and attentive service (we even got a wake up call from a human). Large filling breakfast buffet. Located in the center with access to subway, attractions and restaurants. It's safe, clean and a decent value. Solid hotel.

Was only in Athens for a few days, and this was a great location. Only a block away from a bus stop that goes to and from the airport. Metro stop is less than a block away. Lots of cute restaurants nearby and major sightseeing within walking distance. Service was excellent. Brunch had TONS of delicious options.

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
