Desk was super helpful and accommodating... We had a view of the Acropolis--which was absolutely beautiful (definitely trumped not having a pool); and for those who did not have a room with this view, you could easily access the rooftop and sit back on some comfy lounge chairs & couches (there was also a bar at the top). Rooms were...

Dear MrsBtravelstheWorld, We are very happy to know that your stay at the hotel was a positive experience. We are certainly not a five star hotel. As classified, we are just a three star hotel and we provide the very best to our clients including very clean rooms, customer service, rich buffet breakfast, some superior and Acropolis view rooms, top...

We stayed here for three nights at the beginning of our trip to Greece. The hotel is very well located for tourism, nightlife and shopping. It is a five minute walk from Monastiraki metro station - very handy when coming in from the airport. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We needed to move rooms on arrival simply because...

Stayed 3 nights beginning of February 2017. The room was on 6th floor (603) and a decent size, not too small, with a lovely little balcony which gave a partial view of the temples by the Acropolis. The view from the roof top bar is outstanding and unobstructed. The wifi was also very good and you get the password with...

When I booked the Plaka hotel I was basing my search on highly rated hotels in Athens for an affordable price. The hotel did not disappoint, not only was it in a prime location with a beautiful view from the rooftop bar, but the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nearly everything was in walking distance, and the hotel...

I stayed 3 nights at the hotel in the beginning of February. Accomodation was great, location excellent and the views...well you can't put a price on them! It's just a step from the "High Street" of Athens (Ermou), five minutes walk from Monastiraki and just a step away from Plaka. I am already planning my return later this year. I...

My first time in Athens and cant fault this place: - Our room was very comfortable and daily house keeping impeccable! After a long day out it was great to collapse on a very comfortable bed. - Reception staff were very helpful - ALL OF THEM!! This is unusual as you can sometimes get a grumpy one but we spoke...

This hotel is in a great location and is good value for money. Roof top terrace is lovely with great views. Only down side is the roof top bar is closed in winter but you can take your drinks up from downstairs. There is no 'proper' bar downstairs but this is not a problem as you are out and about...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
