This was a great hotel!! It was very clean. We had no problems. We were traveling with one couple and another adult so locating a room for three is very difficult in Europe. We loved the location. Breakfast was included and it was great!!! Would stay again.

Located with a mind boggling roof top view of the Acropolis, and right in the centre of the very many delights of Plaka, this hotel punches way above its weight., Everything is great. Rooms are a reasonable size. Beds are amongst the most comfortable we have ever experienced away from home! Staff cannot assist enough from booking cabs, to recommendations,...

Location was very convenient, place was clean and comfortable. The manager was super helpful allowing us to keep our rental car parked in front of the hotel. There are many restaurants walking distant to the hotel, cozy and very good food

The central location is excellent and the view of the Acropolis from the rooftop terrace is excellent. What a great location to start a Greek vacation. The service was excellent from reception who offered great suggestions for restaurants to the breakfast staff (with an additional bonus of a staff member who offered to help you decide what to see/do that...

This is truly a no-brainer if planning a stay in Athens. Another difficult write-up to come up with new things that describe how good this place is based on what you get for your dollars. Simply book Plaka Hotel and be done. The closeness to the central train stop was a major advantage getting to and from the airport

We stayed here several nights while in Athens, and staying in Plaka is certainly the way to go! There are plenty of shops and restaurants, and it's very lively. Plus everything you'll want to see is walking distance. Hotel Plaka was excellent! The rooms weren't too small (certainly by European standards), everything was clean, and the staff were exceptionally accommodating....

My husband and I stayed a night, and we loved it. Convenient location: near metro, markets and restaurants, super comfy beds, room was clean and the view from the top floor is amazing. The breakfast was also very good.

The location of the Plaka hotel is excellent. It is amongst the shops in the Monastiraki area, just below the Akropolis. It is a two minute walk from the Monastiraki metro station and about five minutes from Syntagma square. The breakfast provided is exceptional and requests such as fried eggs are welcomed. There is good variety and some traditional Greek...

The Plaka area is the heart of Athens for seeing all the monuments. This hotel offers views of the Acropolis both from your room and a rooftop sitting area/bar. The staff was excellent, nice room, and good breakfast. It met our expectations.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
