We spent 2 nights at the Plaka Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. The views from the roof top alone are worth the stay. The hotel is literally in the heart of Plaka with great shopping around. The rooms was large, clean and comfortable. I would certainly recommend to stay at the Plaka Hotel.

Dear Fiona W, I would like to thank you personally for your kind recommendation to others and for sharing your lovely feedback following your stay with us. I am thrilled that you enjoyed the location with great shopping on Ermou street, which is only one street away from our front door. The experience from our roof terrace of the Acropolis...

This hotel is probably pretty typical of hotels in Athens - small room, we did have a nice view of the Acropolis and Parthenon though. Bathroom was pretty small too but everything looked relatively updated. You get a free bottle of wine with fruits and danishes at check-in, that was pretty nice. Great location - right in the middle of...

Location is excellent. You can go by foot to major attractions. Rooms are small, but clean and confortable. Breakfast is nice. The rooftop view is amazing! You can't miss it! Sometimes we had to wait a lot for the elevator.

It is an unforgettable experience when you first walk to the rooftop open bar/terrace at The Plaka and gaze up at the Acropolis! It was one of our most enjoyable memories of Atehns - sitting on the roof every night, having a beer/wine, and just staring at The Acropolis. The hotel itself is very nice - very clean, helpful reception staff,...

Dear Antony L, I am glad to read that one of the "most enjoyable memories" of Athens is from our hotel's roof bar. Our family rooms are not very large, but they offer two bathrooms which is not common. As you experienced our primary concern is on cleanliness, customer service and a rich breakfast of very good quality. We thank...

Central location, nice and clean rooms and bathroom. But do not ask for a superior room to have a unique sight on the Partenone: the only way to see it is to climb up the stairs and reach the 24h open terrace on the 6th floor. Simply unforgettable!

We stayed at the Plaka hotel for 3 nights. Initially it was hard to find as reading a Greek map when you are Australian is difficult but with some help from locals we found it. The view from the rooftop is spectacular! There is a bar as well and it is the perfect way to spend a quiet night in,...

We stayed for one night en route to Istanbul. Hotel is downtown and well located for sightseeing. First impression on entering our room was how small it was....I could almost touch both side walls with my arms extended. That feeling quickly dissolved when we looked out the window and there was the Acropolis and Parthenon in full view. Room was...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
