I stayed here with my brother for two nights while attending a family event in a nearby village. The town of Harleston is very quaint and full of character, as is the Swan Hotel. As we arrived quite late, we were a little worried that nobody would be available to check us in, but the bar was open and we...

We were there for a meeting and lunch coffee was just right and was served with biscuits. When we went through for lunch we were blown away by the friendliness and efficiency of the staff and the food was superb. Lunch was a carvery, plenty of choice and the option of small or large plate, it was piping hot and...

I popped in for a quick pint, it looked cosy. People had had dinner. I waited 5 minutes, there was nobody behind the bar. It was 12.15 11.1.17 Exasperated I left. Wonder what it's like? It may be a one off. I popped into the Cardinals hat next door, what a dump.

I stayed here for two weeks while working away and would have given it 5 stars if the rooms were slightly better. The rooms are tidy and quirky due to the age of the building but could do with an update. Breakfast and evening meals were amazing and affordable i ate there every night, the bar prices are good to...

Spent New Years Eve in the bar with the locals and very good night. Staff are really friendly and Breakfast was superb. Only down size was lack of heating during a very cold...

I do not usually put reviews on Trip Advisor now but I felt I needed to this time. Now I like the quirkiness of this hotel. I like the character of the place and I love the fact that the locals use it. There is a roaring fire in the bar. We had a good breakfast both days particularly on...

This Hotel is fine for an overnight stay. Right in the centre of Harleston. Their car park takes some finding though. Room comfortable. With a four poster bed. Room we had was overlooking the main street, but after about 11.00 pm there was not nosie. Hotel is rather full of "Tripping Hazards" although we were warned about these, not good...

I arrived after dark and it took ages to find the place. No real signage outside and the sign they did have was really faded. Then you enter and find a sign saying if reception is unmanned please go to the bar. Well I can tell you reception hasn't been manned for some time. It was a dumping ground! I...
