The Old Fort is a unique place. We spent two nights in the Sun Room, which takes up the top floor of a tower of the fort. There are four huge windows, one on each side of the room. So the cross ventilation was outstanding, especially when we opened the front door. The breeze kept the room cool and free...

This is a hidden gem atop a high hill location, location, we were the only two couples staying here last week before our Trade Winds trip. The infinity pool, the lovely young mother who served us breakfast and lunch and the rest of Miguel's staff were truly wonderful and made us feel so special Our suites were upgraded, mosquito netting...

A friend of mine recommended this property and its was such a special stay. Hung out with the owners who are characters. It sits atop a hill with a beautiful pool and very quiet lush surroundings. Everything about it felt personal because it was. This is only possible in small family run properties. Only stayed 2 nights but I'll be...

Set in a beautiful, historic fort estate with stunning views of the Grenadines, this place is all about location and relaxation. The food was superb with good service and Miguel (aka Manuel) is a helpful, friendly host, but beware his Rum Punches are lethal. The rooms are a little understated but have old world charm and colonial decor. Some little...

Miguel and all the team at the Old Fort were great. They looked after us superbly and made as feel as if we were the only people staying there. They were friendly, helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. If you are going to spend time in Bequia I would highly recommend the Old Fort and you will be...

The Old Fort has preserved the history of its property despite necessary renovations. The room was quite comfortable, the view was breathtaking and the pool and outdoors was quite relaxing and nothing but nature speaks to you. The staff and manager was quite friendly and available. They even assisted in planning and were present at tours to the neighboring islands,...

Their communication and answers to my questions via email was on POINT. Both prior to booking, during and after Quirin aka KinKin was super efficient to answer all my questions about the accommodation and the island. As promised taxi from the ferry was provided and very friendly. Staff was outgoing and very accommodating. We visited during the slow time and...

On approach to the Old Fort Hotel, I was struck immediately by the two pillars at the entrance. Vacationing with kids, an educational opportunity arose. I pointed that atop the pillars were canon balls! This is what's striking, what I appreciate about this property, the history! The entire property is rustic in nature with many interesting architectural details. This also...

We arrived at Port Elizabeth by ferry from Kingston, 50 min crossing to be met by Lennus and driven to The Old Fort. It was just on sunset and the drive up the winding road to our accommodation was very interesting until we arrived at the old building itself. The position and the view was spectacular, quite isolated and charming....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Old Fort, Boutique Hotel & Estate is the only fully restored historic plantation in St. Vincent and the Grenadines dating back to the eighteenth-century when the French first started settling the West Indies. Set high atop Mt. Pleasant with an estate that stretches over 28 acres all the way down to the Caribbean Sea, it features acres of orchards and views to beat anything you would find out on the open ocean. Its lush grounds are covered in traveller's palms, breadfruit, tamarind, banana and mango trees, surrounding one of the most beautiful pools in the world, happily slip sliding its watery way over the edge. Recommended over years by numerous international media, it has been transformed into the kind of hotel you never want to leave! ... more   less
