Painted in the style of a cheap 1950s council leisure centre, and with the amenities and charm of a Soviet forced-labour camp, the Choeng Mon Beach hotel is possibly the most ghastly destination you can head to on Koh Samui. The reception was reminiscent of a mini-cab office in North London on a Saturday night: small, dusty, full of faded...

We booked two weeks here and extended for a third week. The rooms are a good size and very clean. The facilities are a little dated, but for the price it was very good value. A beautiful beach, a lovely pool and lots of little eateries to chose from just outside the door. Friendly staff. The only downside was the...

We walked into one of the units and immediately walked out. Upgraded to the second bungalow from the beach and it was slightly better but the location was great so we stayed. The bathroom was archaic and it took at least three flushes to clear the toilet and the shower was dismal. The room was basic with hard beds, so...

Following the unexpected death of the owner / Manager, the hotel has been taken over by related family. Little has been spent on renovation over the last few years, but it is promised that a major upgrade will take place starting in the Summer 2016. The location is superb, but the rooms are dated as are the bungalows. The food...

Fantastic location just by Choeng Mon Beach, and you can eat at the restaurant and watch the world go by. Pros: - Location - Very friendly staff - Spacious - Massive comfortable bed Cons: - Jaded and old - Broken lift - No amenities such as toothbrushes, shampoo, shower gel - Shower not powerful and hot water took ages to...

I have never had a poor meal here in all the years I have been coming. Western and Thai dishes on a very large menu. Try the Massaman curry very good indeed and very good value. Most of the staff are friendly and the service is normally verygood. Very family friendly and literally on the beach!

The location of this hotel is perfect, right on the beach with a restaurant almost on the sandy beach ! The most expensive accommodation is a bungalow, but in fact it is not the best value, as it is darker and has people going past day and night as a main thoroughfare from the car park to the beach and...

You can be romantic here. You can be athletic here with its fitness room, pool(w/o chlorine), the sea, the beach. You can visit temples from here easily -- just up the road. You can go into Chaweng for superlative shopping -- just down the road. In the best village in Samui, Choeng Mon Hotel remains a comfortable, easy, basic, family...

I usually stay here twice a year and on this stay the pool, once again needed a clean. The pool maintenance people try hard but no one appears to understand how to clean a pool of this size. Also there was a table tennis practice group using upstairs level 4 area until late in the evening. The noise was disturbing...
