The hotel is located centrally in the old town. So, it’s walking distance to the water and lots of good restaurants and historic sights. The hotel was included in a package we booked and was reasonably priced with breakfast included. The hotel was clean.

Few things to note: they didn’t let us check in until almost 2pm (which is fine, but they made us literally wait until 1 or 2 minutes before when it appeared the room had been cleaned prior to that); they only provide small bars of soap and body wash/shampoo combo. So if you like conditioner or separate body wash/shampoo, you just have to bring your own; the bed was a little hard, but not the worst; the elevators are small (which isn’t unusual for Europe and in an older building) and a little slow, but the stairs are easily accessible. The breakfast room was also a little small and could be crowded at popular time making it hard to find a table and get around the food section - but they did have a fresh juicer so you could make your own fresh OJ. The breakfast was basic, but enough to have a light bite and coffee and juice.

There are also some great local restaurants up the hill (to the left walking it of the hotel) over looking the Douro River and with fun food and drinks and all very reasonably priced! We ended up going up there every night!

Overall, for the value and the location, it was a descent hotel to explore Porto from.

The location of this hotel is fantastic! The room was very clean and the shower nice and hot (important due to rainy weather). One downside is that the bathroom didn't have a fan, so the steam stayed forever. And there weren't a lot of hooks to hang things.
My room had a view down to the river, so that was an added bonus.
Breakfast had fresh squeezed orange juice (i.e. you could squeeze it).

16th-20th of November 2021. Group of 2.

Since Porto in Portugal has so many uphill and downhill roads, we chose to stay centrally enough. Hence, we chose the hotel da Bolsa. Hotel is located near da Bolsa palace and at the starting point of the mercantile pedestrian street of rua das Flores. Our room didn’t have a balcony like others, but the room and the bathroom were clean, as they were cleaning and changing towels every day. Also, there is a flat screen TV. A tv which you will never open, since the city is sooo beautiful and has sooo many to do.

Moreover, the personnel were discreet and very welcoming. At the breakfast hall they putted nata (local custard dessert) every day and all the other components (cheese, ham, eggs, croissant etc) were truly fresh. But, you have to squeeze your oranges by yourself, if you want fresh orange juice. That is to say, that we ate over there 2 out of 4 days, since breakfast has no variety.

Bonus: It has a big hairdryer in the bathroom with temperature and speed settings.

Minus: No fridge inside the room. No soundproof rooms.

Overall it was a nice experience, since indeed it was close to the city center and we could have it as a base.

(12,50euros with uber from the airport)

We stayed for 9 nights. The hotel location couldn't be any better - we had a view of the cathedral and could also see the river. The staff were always helpful and the breakfast was very good (not an english breakfast or english cereal, but I don't go on holiday for that) and it filled us up for most of the day. For the cost, I couldn't fault this hotel and would definitely stay there again. If I had paid more money, then I would have liked a fridge in the room (as the cold water tap wasn't very cold) and a kettle, but they are just minor issues which I was happy to ignore given the value for money and location this hotel offers.

This hotel is in a great location to explore Porto. The rooms are small but efficient and the bed was comfortable. The walls are thin so take some earphones to use for sleep. Breakfast was delicious and included an electric juicer for fresh orange juice .

Stayed 2 nights at this warm clean and professional hotel . Fantastic location in a charming very friendly city .
No complaints about our room , yes it wasn’t the biggest room and a little noisy but when staying in the city you expect a bit of noise from outside and other guests .
All the staff we met were very helpful .
Would recommend for a weekend break like we had as perfect for exploring the city and lots of restaurants bars and shops nearby .

First tip, if you’re using the Maps.me app to find this place, put the address in and not just the name of the hotel. We made that mistake and wandered around asking for quite a while.

The hotel is nice, clean and well located for exploring. They stored our bags as we arrived early and all the staff were very pleasant. The room was spacious (although the bathroom was quite small) and quiet, so maybe we were lucky there. One big disappointment was that the WiFi just didn’t work anywhere but down in the lobby and bar area. The breakfast was very good, considering there were no hot dishes.

If you’re thinking that there is a bar which you’ll want to use, then you should check ahead. We were there in September but when we wanted to watch the TV in the bar one evening, we were told that the bar was closed. “What time did it close ?” we asked. “March” came back the answer. However, they did allow us to sit there and watch a game on my iPad (while one of the bosses and his friend watched their team on the TV).

We really liked this hotel. It was very conveniently located (we thought it was in a weird or odd part of town, but it turned out to be a great part of town). We were able to easily walk to every main tourist site. Provided breakfast was excellent - fresh squeezed Orange Juice (squeeze it yourself) . Very friendly staff (who assisted us with options and questions and booking a Duoro Valley Wine tour). WiFI worked well and the rooms were clean and nice (Loved the waterfall shower). We thought there was a rooftop terrace but there was not. I would recommend this hotel and definitely stay here again if and when back in Porto.

The hotel is in the best location. 5 minutes to the riverfront, 10 minutes to the tower and 20 minutes to the largest park. The room was OK. It was on the 6th (top) floor so the walls narrowed in and you had to duck getting into and out of bed. The bar made good sandwiches but has a very limited beer selection and no draft beer. The staff is indifferent. Not rude, but not helpful or friendly. The room was clean and everything worked well. Again, the location is excellent. We parked at a free lot near the edge of Porto and took an Uber to the hotel and back for only 8 Euros.

A quaint hotel, well located in the heart of the historical centre in Porto. The breakfast provided was very good. The rooms were quiet, except for the construction that was present throughout. The staff was very pleasant, especially Vetro who did everything possible to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

I don’t recall there being parking at the hotel. There are places to park outside the hotel but not sure on parking charges and how long you can park there for. Also there is underground parking at the bottom of the hill where the green is, but not sure on parking costs here either. Sorry

We did request a room not facing the street but got one anyway.I think it just depends on what is available when you arrive. We were at the side of the hotel on a cobbled street and you could hear traffic noise but most of the hotels in the town are the same.We found it a very nice hotel in a good location

They all face the street it has streets on three sides and a building behind. You won’t hear any street noise. We were there in July. It was a fantastic hotel.
