My husband and I booked a room just for us, and we loved it. This is a really nice and clean hostel. Breakfast choice is large, they even prepare scrambled eggs if you ask for. Location is great, in the art district a bit away from tourist crowds and walking distance from everywhere in Porto. The staff was very helpful...

The Gallery hostel was not at all like a hostel and located in a fabulous old building which has been renovated to a high and chic standard. Each room of the residence had lots of personality. There is a new artist on display every 2 months which means lots of wonderful art to see, fitting as it is located in...

Stayed here with two friends in late March 2017 and we all agreed this is the best hostel we've stayed in, particularly for our age group of 26-30. We were in a 6 bed dorm, it was clean, good strong shower, fresh linen and towels - everything you expect from budget accommodation. Our roommate snored but that's always a risk...

This is a very beautiful hostel which also serves as a gallery to those not staying as guests. The hostel is family run, they are all very friendly. It was pretty cute how you could tell which ones were siblings because they all had braces. One of the brothers is pretty cute, it was a nice way to kick off...

I stayed for 3 nights at this hostel and was very impressed. The rooms are large, spacious, and clean. The staff is knowledgeable and easily helped me fill my days with amazing activities and excellent food. The breakfast provided each day had fresh fruit and scrambled eggs. The train station and most city attractions are within walking distance. The bar...

Great value for money. Staff were very friendly and very helpful answering our questions. Good selection for breakfast. The location was great too...

Spent 4 nights at this hostel in a twin room. Service, attitude, diner and cleanliness are good. Close to the city centre and still very silent with good beds. For a hostel it's perfect and comparison with normal hotels this place isn't worse. Prices are low. Definitely recommend dinner with staff and visitors for only 10 euro and all home...

One word: recommendable! The location is okay, not in the very centre unfortunately. But there's a supermarket just 2 min away, what's perfect on the other hand. The staff is super friendly and the service is great! They offer a free city tour every day, which is ideal to get a first impression about what is where. There's dinner every...

The hostel is beautiful and very comfortable. It is liberally decorated with Visual art, but is rather modern, with a lot of modern glass surfaces on the inside. You can have independent rooms that are seriously close to a **** Hotel standard. This is where I slept. I can not comment on the shared rooms and what they looked like....

The Gallery Hostel is set in a privileged area of Oporto, known for its art galleries and modern shops, at a walking distance from the main points of interest in the city centre such as museums, monuments, gardens, restaurants and bars. Located in Rua Miguel Bombarda, the Hostel is established in an historical building with more than 100 years old, which just went through a renewal in order to respond to our guest’s needs and expectations. With high standards of comfort and carefully decorated, you will find a familiar and cosy atmosphere, complemented by a multilingual and professional team. Composed by several types of rooms, the Gallery Hostel is divided in two sections. You can choose between staying in the main building in a 6 or 4 people bedroom, or in one of our Garden Suites, always offering a privileged privacy. In the main building, each room is named after the most renowned artists of Oporto such as Sophia Mello Breyner, Almeida Garrett, Julio Resende, Silva Porto, Siza Vieira and Souto Moura. Also creating an original feeling of the city and enhancing local culture, the Garden Suites are named after the main Oporto city parks (Cordoaria, Botânico, Serralves and Palácio de Cristal). Our services and common areas have also been developed in order to satisfy any need the guest might have. You can choose listening to music and drink Portuguese wine in our Lounge Bar, watch a DVD in our Movie Theatre or play a game, surf on internet or read a book in our Library, have a chat or chill out in our interior gardens, enjoy a meal in our open kitchen and breakfast area, between others. ... more   less
