There are modern design elements throughout - almost at the level of a so-called art hotel - which, as some have noted, may emphasize form over function. Lighting's often one issue when that happens. Still, we had a corner room (on the fourth floor) with four windows - a first for us. The view was picture perfect. Even the nearby...

Stayed here two nights. The hotel is very modern but the room was a bit small and basic (and it lacked mirrors in the main part of the room)! The buffet breakfast was good quality although the breakfast staff frequently took too long to notice and then clear away dirty dishes from our table. On the three mornings we ate...

Room 841 at Mercure Porto Centro has an excellent panorama over much of Porto’s old town, the Se Cathedral and many other historic buildings, with added entertainment of frequent sea gulls sitting on the window ledge ( but I wouldn’t suggest to open the window to let them in) The room was more than satisfactory, similar to some of the...

Spend three nights in the Mercure Porto Centro and had a very enjoyable stay. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of fruit, local cheeses and wonderful bread. Every morning they had hot freshly baked local speciality custard tarts. Delicious! The staff were particularly helpfully with great English. I forgot my adapter for my mobile. They searched until they found a...

We enjoyed out stay at the Mercure Centro Porto : Location : Very good, cafes nearby, main shopping drag not far away and an easy walk downhill into different parts of the town. Useful circular tram stops just outside the hotel which takes people to other central areas. Rooms : Spotlessly clean. Standard Mercure style property, no extravagancies but a...

Hotel OK and staff friendly though needs air conditioning that works all year round, difficult to sleep as room too warm. Paid for an upgraded room which states tea and coffee making facilities which equates to 4 coffee pods per day. Do not consider the hotel to be good value for the facilities provided.

My wife and I stayed in the Mercure Centro hotel in Porto for 3 nights. We stayed in a Superior room which was good as the standard rooms looked very small. Our room had a very comfortable bed and a complementary mini bar. The view from the room was fantastic and if they could put a balcony in then it...

During the booking I wondered, maybe the hotel is too far from the centrer. But it is very close to everywhere. Clean and nice hotel. It was very reasonable to stay in this hotel. Brekfast was as usual.
