We can't find anything was wrong during our stay, everything about this hotel was just perfect! Quick check in/out, our room was spotless, friendly staff, delicious breakfast and most importantly it is centrally located, close to major attractions especially Ribeira river. We had a amazing time staying here for 3 nights and definitely recommend this hotel.

Location was ideal, central and close to Sao Bento station. The hotel's location was handy as we could explore in the mornings, then pop back to drop off any shopping (and dry off as it rained constantly during our stay). Staff were good, bed was comfortable and if you ask, they have different pillows . We enjoyed breakfast there was...

Pros: great linens, pillows, bed firm but acceptable (not too hard) good breakfast with nice selection of fruit great, spacious shower good location, central friendly and helpful staff Cons: whatever effect they were trying to achieve with very dim lighting, forget it, install lights everywhere ! could find only one useable outlet in my room, in the floor next to...

All decoration reminds a theatre. Rooms are good, breakfast is very good, people are very nice. Only two small things to highlight as negative points: too few plugs (I was with my wife and each one had notebooks, tablets and cel phones to charge) and the separation of the room and the bath is just a curtain. Some people don´t...

Very good hotel, walking distance from the main historical sites of Oporto. Confortable bed, quiet, good breakfast and fancy restaurant. It is a design hotel related to Theater then it is a bit dark, as you were in the stage all the time

I understand they're going for the backstage theater theme but it's too dark in the hotel and the rooms. It's a bit out of the way from the waterfront and cool parts of porto. But I found a pizza place that delivered for free to my room. Which was amazing. Waterfall type overhead showers with plenty of water. Very nice....

I am not sure why others say anything less to say about this hotel. I travel a lot and stay in many different places. For the price I paid, this is one of the best hotels. First, the staff was wonderful. They were knowledgeable, efficient and kind. We had a medical situation occur during our stay and they could not...

The hotel is very good located. The rooms are spacious. The staff friendly. The breakfast also good. The minus is that lobby and corridors are too dark. They offer you a free glass of port wine. That's nice

Hotel Teatro is in an excellent central location - its best feature. The staff is also very polite, helpful and accommodating- its second best feature. The entire hotel, including hallways and guest rooms are very dark to the point of being depressing. Perhaps an attempt to recreate a theater atmosphere - not a good plan when in a hotel and...

Some main things that very much upset me about this hotel: 1. No privacy in the bathrooms. I mean, how is that acceptable? Everyone in the room can see everything on the toilet and in the shower. 2. I had originally booked under my last name, and when I showed up with my partner, they added him as well. Turns...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Teatro arose from the spot where the Baquet Theatre was inaugurated in 1859. A hundred and fifty-one years later, the unique, refined and bohemian environment of the Theatre has been revived here in a hotel. The Reception represents a box office, where each guest receives a ticket to access their room. The Restaurant and Bar have become the new Palco and Plateia, offering creations for a discerning palate. The inner courtyard is a versatile garden or a quiet and secluded haven from the tumult of the city. The 74 comfortable rooms and suites are colored in gold and bronze, and the gym on the top floor transforms the Hotel into a true arena for action and relaxation. ... more   less
