A group of 9 recently stayed at the Teatro for a 3 night stay and it was excellent, the front desk were very helpful especially Sylvia. The rooms were very comfortable and even equipped with an umbrella. The breakfast was very good, if I was in Porto again I would return. Thank you

We stayed at the Teatro during our visit to Porto and whilst it was ok, there was nothing very special about it. Two things did stand out in that it was very dark everywhere in the hotel which did not make for a friendly feel and the breakfast was had a very poor selection of food.

Hotel was nice enough but theater theme was overdone to the point that we went out and got flash lights so we could see in the room. Very, very low lighting. Didn't know we had a coffee maker and frig behind the theater drapes until we were ready to leave. Front desk and breakfast was good.

Stayed for three days as a group of six in three rooms and were surprised at the quality of this hotel given the price paid. The hotel was modern, well presented and a little off beat with the theatrical theme (although it was a little dark!). The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts, in particular, were well above...

This hotel has style. All through the theatre theme is nicely integrated. From the front door to the bar. From the curtains to the music. Well situated. Lovely people at reception and the barmen. You receive a complementary Port on arrival, which tasted lovely. Breakfast is good too.

We were there just one night. The hotel is comfortable but a little bit dark. The toilet is modern and spacious, but one door is missed. Great breakfast. The location is great exactly in the city center.

Nice hotel in a great central location. Nice breakfast with continental and cooked options. Comfortable room with all conveniences especially 2 complimentary umbrellas which proved to be essential! Staff were friendly and helpful. It was my birthday whilst there and the hotel left complimentary fizz and cake in our room when we returned that evening. A lovely touch. The teatro is...

Disappointing. Small, uncomfortable rooms/beds. Dark. Service is less than accommodating. SPG status will not solve any of these issues. The location is decent enough given Porto is relatively small..

The good features of this hotel are the great restaurant which offers tasting menus as well as a la carte and excellent breakfast, and its location. It is within easy reach of a couple of metros that have direct trains from and to the airport. The downside is the dim lighting throughout the hotel and 'designer' bathrooms which were both...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Teatro arose from the spot where the Baquet Theatre was inaugurated in 1859. A hundred and fifty-one years later, the unique, refined and bohemian environment of the Theatre has been revived here in a hotel. The Reception represents a box office, where each guest receives a ticket to access their room. The Restaurant and Bar have become the new Palco and Plateia, offering creations for a discerning palate. The inner courtyard is a versatile garden or a quiet and secluded haven from the tumult of the city. The 74 comfortable rooms and suites are colored in gold and bronze, and the gym on the top floor transforms the Hotel into a true arena for action and relaxation. ... more   less
