We stayed at this hotel in October 2022. We had room #303.

The good :

Check-in was fast. The staff at the lobby is great. Friendly and helpful.
The room was very clean, there is a mini-fridge and a safe in the room. No carpet.
Nice bathroom with good water pressure in the shower, but water temperature varies a lot.
The room has a small balcony and big windows that let the light in the room.

The bad :

Not a real king bed, just two single beds next to each other so it was not a very comfortable arrangement.
There are no USB ports available in the room.
Wi-Fi was not reliable at all in the room.
The TV volume was blocked at 10 (out of 60) so we could not really watch TV because volume was so low. We call the front desk and they sent somebody to check and since there was really a problem he told us that they would have to replace the TV, which could take some time. Since it was already late we simply declined and went to bed!
The location of this hotel is not the best. Nothing much around, the neighborhood seems a little sketchy and the view from the room is simply depressing.

TripAdivsor sold us out to something called Trip.com. Trip.com sold us out to Axis Hotel in Porto Portugal. We were told it was a 5 star hotel . NOT. it is a mix between a 3* and a 2.5*. It apparently caters to cheap tours of old people. And don't get me wrong, I am old. We finally got to a room at 9pm after learning Tripadvisors sold us out to Trip.com who then tried to avoid responsibility for our res. not getting done. We ended up at Axis being told it was a 5 * hotel.
People BEWARE Tripadivsor.com. Can't trust them anymore. and AVOID Trip.com. some hongkong company who really doesn't give a crap as long as it can try to avoid responsibility.
The only good thing was we were in Portugal where accepting the blame, is not an art form but a responsibility to be born but cheaply. We booked a Eurostar hotel. Eurostar Oporto told us this was better . NOT. So while Portugal is a long shot better than Chinese or USA companys they are not willing to honor one's actual purchase!

Nice hotel but very far from the centre of town. There is very little to do in the area and we did not feel comfortable walking too far. There is a laundromat nearby. Breakfast was good with many choices of both hot and cold foods. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Not a touristy hotel so far out of town! Meant either 20€ taxi ride to town or walk 15 minutes to the local Metro and go from there. Hotel staff friendly and room very clean. Tiny bar area and spa pool charge of 5€ to use plus 5€ for swim hat. Pool was tiny. Hotel fine if you’re on a business trip but I would next time want something in the town. Nothing to do in evening apart from going to student type bars in a local shopping area

A four star hotel with excelent services, the accommodation, service, reception staff are quite qualified. They offer maps and information about touristic objectives in Porto and arounds. The only minus is not near the old town, Ribeira is proper for people with car.

This is a modern glitzy hotel in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Being a business hotel it has a lot of amenities: beautiful rooms, restaurant, bar, spa, gym. I thought the price for my room was quite reasonable for Europe. My room included the very good breakfast buffet. The only drawback from a tourist standpoint is that it is a 20 minute taxi/Uber ride to the downtown area where all the action is at.

Yes it’s out of town. If this is no great for you, pay the extra and go to the centre. Look on a map, it’s not difficult!
It suited us down to the ground, the few bars etc around are truly for the Portuguese and not the tourist.
There is a Metro a short walk away, then you can travel anywhere.
Great breakfast, likes the Turkish bath etc and the pool is fun albeit too small to do lengths.
Good value for money, would stay here again.

This hotel is a great place but it far from all turistic spots and even from public transportation. It´s more an hotel for business and not much for tourists due to his location

Location - Located in the outskirts of Oporto, in a residencial area, there is nothing of interesting nearby - not even nice restaurantes - The closest public tranportation is at Hospital de S. João - a solid 10 to 15 minutes walk.

Rooms/bathroom - good size and nice design. Modern details in the decor. Confy bed and as the area is residencial is very quiet...

Restaurants - Had dinner at restaurant and it was quite good - as expected for this kind of hotel - The breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choices

If location is not an issue - this hotel in an excelent choice....

The staff very friendly, the rooms clean.
Breakfast also had good amount of choices
The look/style of the hotel is between classic & design
In general, very satisfyed. Ratio value for cost very good.
The only thing is the location, which is not in city center. On the other hand is 10min from airport.

Listen carefully as the (actually very straightforward) directions for the 10 mins walk to the Metro terminus are explained by the delightfully friendly reception staff - otherwise you will spend hours wandering around housing estates and alongside motorways in the northern suburbs of Oporto, far from tourist attractions!
The hotel itself is absolutely superb - gleaming marble, tiles and mirrors with en-suite bedrooms fully equipped with all mod-cons, shower and bath, hairdryer, toiletries, towels galore, packets of clensing tissues and sewing kit etc etc. Also a mini-bar and digital safe - but take a travel kettle if you fancy a d-i-y tea or coffee in preference to using room-service.
The piece -de- resistance of this establishment is the gargantuan buffet hot and cold breakfast - running for 3 hours per day - with at least 50 different foods and drinks to mix and match according to taste.
I haven't stayed at other hotels in Porto but I would rate this 5 out of 5. Even the slightly odd location gave us a chance to discover local shops and cafes and it forced us to get to immediate grips with the "Andante" ticketing system on the superbly modern Metro.
