We had a pleasant overnight stay in this plain but gracious inn. It is not a hotel, and it is about a 25 minute walk to the center of town. There is bus service but the frequency drops off in the evening. Upon arrival, we were given a map with important sites circled and detailed bus information. On departure, our...

Here's the thing. All the previous reviews con you into thinking this is the perfect hotel because we all are taken in by the hospitality of Augustino and his free Port wine. In reality this is a 45 minute walk from the main area of town, uphill all the way. It's old fashioned and dreary. My main worry though is...

We had a brief stop-over in Porto before heading off to Galicia in Spain, only one full day in this beautiful town and only two nights at Hotel Lis. However the attractions of the town and the friendliness of the hotel owner and his family made a great impression on us. We felt genuine warmth and a huge pride in...

The rooms at Lis B&B are spacious and clean and thoughtfully come with a bottle of Port and cookies. We were given a large room with a single and a double, a table with chairs and a big bathroom with a tub, shower, toilet, sink and bidet. The hotel provided an adequate breakfast of fresh croissants, buns, a variety of...

We enjoyed our three-night stay here. Very friendly and helpful people running the hotel, reflecting the friendliness we encountered everywhere in Porto. We were even offered a lift to the station the day of our departure. The complementary port on arrival was a nice touch. Very good value for money and the room was quite large with an alcove and...

When I asked the owner how to take public transportation to the airport after our 4 night stay, he said with our 3 suitcases that public transportation would not be good so he volunteered to drive us to the airport. Truly above and beyond the call of duty. The room was average, but the service was excellent.

Augustine our host is a warm hearted individual passionate for visitors to learn and experience the rich diversity of Porto, his very own home town. The spacious accommodation, was spotless and perhaps a bit dated yes. But a wonderful shower and bath were a great cure. Breakfast was intimate, perhaps basic to others but overall undisputably excellent value. Embrace Augustine...

We spent 4 nights here while in Porto. From the moment we arrived the owner Agostinho made us feel welcome. We arrived early and exhausted after an overnight train trip, we were kindly offered breakfast and our room was made available to us as soon as it was cleaned. Agostinho was very obliging and helpful in providing information about sightseeing...

We stayed here for four nights at the end of September and can say it was one of the best small hotels we have ever been to. From the moment we were greeted late Sunday evening to when we left on Thursday morning, all staff were polite, friendly, professional and courteous. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable and the...
