We loved our short stay at Santa Luzia Arthotel. The room was amazing, lovely and very clean. The bed was large and comfortable. We asked for vegan breakfast and the staff was very helpful! We felt very welcomed, would definitely come back. The location is very near the city centre and within a walkable distance to all the main attractions.

Good hotel about 8 minute walk from the center of town. Checkin was very professional. We had 2 rooms: a suite across 2 floors. It was clean although lacked a little natural light. The bed was comfortable however I could not see myself relaxing downstairs in the lounge area facing some cupboards and a fridge. Our other room was a comfort twin. The room was rather small and depressing but fine for our teenage sons.
Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Some of the restaurant staff where excellent, others seemed to have been brought in from the local farm. The room was cold and it was difficult to find a comfortable table in a warm spot away from a noisy a/c unit.
Compared to other hotels this one feels a little over priced for what is on offer.

We had a great time at Eurostars Santa Luzia. The staff went above and beyond, being caring, responsive and acknowledging all our requests. The hotel facilities were great and modern, specially the rooftop swimming pool and sundeck, and the beautiful indoor pool and spa. The hotel design is also very appealing. The breakfast was nice for a 4* hotel having all that you need (just that small "distinguishing" items were missing); the quality of the food was great. The hotel itself is close to Guimarães downtown. On-street parking can be difficult but there is a parking place nearby. Highly recommended!

I came to this hotel in 2019 for the first time. I had chosen this hotel cause I wanted to use a pool. I really enjoyed my first time. Second time in 2023 was not that well as there were minor problems ( they changed the price for breakfast without informing us) but the pool on the top was ok. This time staff was extremely unfriendly. I asked on reception that i would like to use spa area, the weather was terrible but they didnt swich on the sauna before 10.15 although spa is opened starting from 9 am. There are a lot of hotels in this area so I will chose different one as the location a bit creepy too. I didnt give one star although I feel like doing it as the room was more or less clean (beside the strange fingerprints on the glass wall in the bathroom) so I realize that some people did their work properly.

Was booked for 16 days left in 5. Really bad. Cramped room, lots of light but dark as all lights are low wattage. Hard to shave. Dark and cramped bathroom. Bed to low and really noise. Breakfast really bad. Coffee and bread, two great things of the Portuguese cuisine spoiled. Cold milk, bitter coffee out of machines. Old bread bad croissants. A total disappointment.
Nothing better for breakfast than nice coffee with milk boy you cannot get it here. Had to get out ahead of schedule.
Every time one turns in bed is like it is going to break.
Never again.

Excellent stay. The staff was very friendly and the location was great. The pool on the 3rd (top) floor was amazing. i did upgrade to a queen bed and it was VERY comfortable (and NOT stiff like most European beds). I can not say enough good things about this hotel. It will not disappoint.

We were recently in Guimaraes to attend a conference and the Santa Luzia Arthotel was recommended to us via the conference organizer. We could not have been more satisfied with the level of service we received and by just how much this place made us feel comfortable during our 5 night stay. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Rita who gave us a lot of fantastic recommendations within the city; places to eat, things to see, what to do and shopping. The room we were given was on the 1st floor with a little patio overlooking the reflection pool. It was super clean (which is always my biggest concern) and the décor was impressive. It's in an extremely quiet part of town so we were not disturbed by traffic or street noise.

I have a bad back and after traveling from the U.S. all the way to Guimaraes, the bed in our room was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, in any hotel in all my travels...it really helped me recover and not be in pain as most hotel beds can do. The bathroom was awesome...it's not often you see both a shower and a bath in a hotel room. The air conditioning was spot-on...a lot of European hotels just don't put out enough cold air but this one we actually had to turn up because we got too cold. The selection of tv channels was good...a lot of them are US/UK based networks with Portuguese subtitles. Our only complaint was that the volume did not go up that high so it was kind of hard to hear the tv sometimes but that's ok...we weren't there for the tv.

The restaurant within the hotel is worth trying out. We ate a majority of our meals there because the of service and quality of food that was available. Three things you HAVE to try there...their assortment of fresh breads, the pink pepper butter (that stuff was sheer magic!) and the chocolate mousse with lemon curd (absolutely DEVINE). Our servers were always attentive and they were most accommodating to us as we do not speak Portuguese.

You can tell the staff enjoy working there and that certainly is reflected in the service they provide...Rita was always popping up (like a ninja) to see how we were doing. She and Joana were especially eager to ensure we had everything we needed. They even walked us out to the taxi when we had to depart...we were sad to have to leave our little oasis that is known as Santa Luiza Arthotel but we will gladly be back because the whole experience was just the best. You two ladies have a great sense of humor but you certainly know how to get the job done.

To the management and staff of Santa Luiza Arthotel, keep doing what you're doing. I know you've not been open for long, but you have created a fantastic environment for your guests from start to finish. Please don't lose the charm you already have. Keep up the great work!!

We booked this hotel last November in order to be near the EUFA Semifinal on 6 June between England and Holland in Guimaraes a small Portuguese town. We knew getting a good quality room would be difficult if we didn’t book well in advance. We booked first night directly with the hotel and 3 nights through Expedia. Both bookings were confirmed. 9 days prior to arrival at the hotel we got an email from Expedia saying my booking was cancelled because the hotel would be closed. I did not believe them. I called the hotel 3 times and the booking staff were evasive and could not explain. I asked to speak to a Manager but again I had to call many times before anyone would speak to me. It turned out the hotel was not closed, they just took a better booking for more money. So unless you are happy to book a place where you are likely to be ejected if a better deal comes along I would avoid at all costs! We actually did spend the first night there as we booked that direct. I insisted we get it for free for the inconvenience they caused. There were no hotels available in Guimaraes in 6 June, we had to travel 20 miles away. On the night of the match there were no taxis, no coaches and no trains to get us home. In the end we didn’t get back to the hotel until after 3am and it cost us 100 Euros. Horrible hotel, horrible treatment. STAY AWAY!
PS: the Manager, Mr Mendez did not even bother to see us while we were there to apologise nor have I received an
apology from the hotel since, disgusting.

The picture on the ad shows two swimming pool, but only one is included... the outside one that during the winter we are not able to use it. They charge 10 euros for only 1h30 if you want to use the internal one. No parking. Very expensive for what they offer. The receptionist didn’t really care when I said that the images on the Hotels.com app makes you think that the pool is included. She said “On our website has all the information needed.” “We have no control on the app”. The bedroom is very basic. Defo would not recommend stay in this hotel.

Please check the airport information as there used to be a shuttle, very inexpensive that will take you to the Guimaraes bus station. From there you csn take a taxi for 5 euros. 40 minutes tops door to door.
