If you want a good, clean, welcoming place to stay in Funchal then look no further than the Mariazinha hotel. The staff are very welcoming, especially Veronica. This has been our 3rd stay here and be in no doubt we will return.

The location, the cleanliness, the price and the welcome are what make this a great choice if you are visiting Funchal. Veronica on reception is a real asset to the hotel. She is friendly, attentive and helpful and can't do enough for the guests. In terms of value for money, I would find this place hard to beat. We chose...

you want to start your tour of this town, this is the place to stay at! Old town area, lots of restaurants and art work along the way to the end of the street where this B&B is based. very clean and fancy looking place, but the rooms are average and overall decent. if you are expecting a resort like...

The hotel is ideally situated in the Old Town area of Funchal. Rooms are very comfortable with a/c. Veronica at reception is wonderful and can't help you enough with any tours and other arrangements. The bakery next door is superb. Try the Madeira tasting a few doors away.

Upgraded to suite which was very spacious with huge bathroom with jacuzzi and overhead shower. No rubber bathmat so had to be extra careful not to slip when showering. The blind completely unravelled when we pulled it down for privacy and it stayed that way the entire time. Was concerned when I didn't see any pillows on the bed -...

This hotel is really lovely and in a great location. Veronika on reception is amazing! She will organise anything for you and knows guests by name, which is a lovely personal touch. My room was large, comfy and clean. Would definitely recommend it

You are right in the old part of the city but the real bonus is that you stay over real bakery, the accommodation is spotless & if your room is on the top floor (53 steps!) you actually get spoilt, the bathroom is enormous & there is a small balcony. We shall return next time that we visit Madeira.

This hotel was formerly home to the original bakery owners below it. The smell of fresh bread mingles with the lingering scent of beeswax throughout the graceful and well-cared for spaces of Residencia Mariazinha. Breakfast includes bread and rolls from the bakery, excellent coffee, fruit and yoghurt, cereals, cheese and ham. We have a suite with a south-facing balcony and...
