I booked for the Mariazinha only to find on arrival we were to be placed in their other building further down the lane at No53, which was nowhere near as nicely decorated and very noisy, and had to walk down the lane for breakfast each day. Most importantly for any guest wishing to stay at this hotel, No53 Rua Santa...

This place is very well located, inside the old town of Funchal. The rooms are spacious and really clean. One of the things I enjoyed the most was the proximity with good restaurants, nightlife and in general close to most things worth seeing in Funchal. I would stay there again.

We were warmly welcomed at the door and shown to our room even tho we were a few hours early. Our super clean room was on the second floor and faced the street. We enjoyed watching the street scene below even if it was noisy early in the day. We saw a full truck of wood unloaded for the bakery...

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights and weren't disappointed for our choice. It is located in the old part of the city, in short distance from the centre easily reached by the public transport. Though our plane was late for more than 3 hrs the very kind receptionist Veronica patiently waited for our arrival. She was also open...

We came in June and had a fab time. This place is smack bang in the heart of Funchal, we could not get much closer... really! Everything was cleaned and the beds made every day. Our private bathroom was very smart and we got fresh towells whenever we needed them. A simple but filling breakfast and on the doorstep of...

Ideally located in the old town for the best bars and restaurants. It is on a narrow street so no traffic, however cafes and restaurants abound on each side so you can expect some degree of noise in the evening. We were accommodated not in the hotel itself but in the new annexe about 200 yards up the street, in...

In a fabulous allocation, if you want to be in the hub of Funchal night life. Rooms are very comfortable, and very clean, including the on suite bathroom. The only thing lacking in the bedroom is a big mirror, which was annoying when there is only the bathroom mirror. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for the fabulous...

Our room was large , including a double bed and small single for our 12 year old...

Myself and my husband stayed here for our honeymoon and there is nothing we could fault. This hotel is lovely and suited us perfectly. The rooms were large and the air conditioning was perfect. The breakfast which was included in the room was lovely and set us up for the day - the fresh rolls each morning from the bakery...

I have stayed here twice now and could not have asked for a better place to stay. The location is amazing, right in the centre with old cobbled streets, boutique shops and friendly staff. Veronica was such a lovely lady. It was a perfect stay and Veronica is very friendly and always willing to help with directions, places to eat...
