Absolutely perfect accommodation, very clean and well equipped with large comfortable bed, stylish decor and lovely outdoor area to sit. Plus a very tasty and fresh breakfast! Great location to city centre and airport bus stop. The hotel was also really helpful when I had a problem with my booking.
A lovely studio and an amazing cleaning service. Great WiFi connection, friendly staff and a tasteful breakfast. The atmosphere of the place is so warm and familiar. A home feeling that engages you from the first moment.
Sao Paulo e Alegria was by far the nicest stay I had on my trip through Portugal. The best value for money, best service and the best breakfast. The studio was newly refurbished with all the necessary features to be a comfortable stay, but what really impressed me was the thoughtful way on which the decoration embraces and respects the history and the vintage spirit of the building. The rooftop lounge was my favourite late afternoon wine spot. A place to relax, work and tan. Breakfast is a most have in this place. The products are fresh, local and delicious... I could eat those jams and yogurt every day. Last but not least, my biggest appreciation to the team that puts so much energy and joy in their work and run an extra mile if necessary just to make you feel at home. The reception is thoughtful and their level of english is really impressive. They provide all the information necessary and I mean literally ALL the information: from bus schedules, restaurants around the island, tours, weather, historical facts even portuguese wine pairing. You can really tell they love hospitality and for the first time I was in a place where that sense of service felt honest.…
I got in love with the charming old-fashion look of the bedrooms. You can tell this place is full of history and it is so well preserved. The DeLuxe room is spacious and comfortable. The TV is brand new and WiFi is the best I got so far in an hotel room. The roof terrace is a delightful bonus and the staff attentiveness is remarkable. The receptionist level of English is extraordinary but even the housekeeper and the maintenance team speaks quite well. You would expect this level from a 5 star hotel but not from a 3 star. Breakfast is generous, fresh and local. I will definitely return here.
Our goal was to find a clean, very central and good value accommodation and we have achieved all that by staying here! The location is really the best. Everything is available on a short walk, including the aerobus and the ferry to Porto Santo Island. Our studio was well equipped for two weeks on self-catering basis. We end up trying their breakfast and can honestly say that is very cheap for the quality presented. Really good value, small breakfast lounge though. The staff is friendly and helpful and runs an extra mile to make you feel at home. Next year, same place.
