First foreign holiday for years and what a great incentive to have another. Great staff, super location and excellent food. We chose half-board with a little apprehension but we were delighted with the wide choice and great quality. The grounds, pools etc were lovely and the view from them equally good Would recommend this hotel to anyone
Sadly back home from having had a wonderful week at the Royal Savoy. Staff are always friendly and willing to help. Spotless and very clean. Rooms are spacious, well appointed and the little touches count. We had an Easter Egg left in our room as we stayed over Easter. Although the hotel was more or less full it was never overcrowded anywhere. A very comfortable ambience to make you feel totally relaxed. Looking forward to come back again this year.
Excellent holiday management and staff exceptional happy always at hand to help the organised anniversary party was great very impressed weather was a little indifferent but can always be sure of getting a tan?
We used to stay here many years ago and wanted a quick weekend away to our favourite island. The Royal Savoy is ideally situated providing direct sea access, a short walk into the centre of Funchal and ideally located near many restaurants. The hotel is now 20 years old and has recently undergone some refurbishment. We stayed in a studio which was well equipped with a mini kitchen, seating and bedroom area. The hotel is very clean, staff were very attentive and surprisingly we found the hotel to be very reasonable in terms of drink and food prices for a 5* hotel. The food is of a very good quality. A wonderful weekend away and whilst ee have visited many hotels in Madeira, this trip reminded us of why we fell in love with the Royal Savoy many years ago and we hope to return later this year.…
My wife and I have visited Royal Savoy for 11 times. It has always proved cosy and yet wirh high quality services. This time we used the room kitchen a lot, because of the covid-19 still existing. The kitchen works great. The pool is our favourite, we used it nearly every day.
Time share owners since 2005. Still an excellent location, but somewhat dated, despite the recent refurbishment. Thatchers Bar is a nice addition. Despite it's it age (or perhaps, because of it's age) it feels like home, it's familiar and we'll be back.
Enjoyed a superb stay in this hotel which just does everything right. The rooms are spacious and have sea views. The food if top quality and served by attentive friendly staff. Our housemaid Maria was a joy and added to our birthday experience.Thoroughly enjoyed the pool areas which are clean and very spacious. An amazing experience.
What a great hotel down at sea level with good pools and views. Staff were attentive and followed up on conversations. Location was easy to get to main promenade, gardens, town and a host of eateries . Already planning a return trip
As a Vacation Club member, I have stayed here on many occasions since 2011. The facilities suit my needs, and the location near Funchal's seafront is very convenient. The staff are very friendly and efficient from doormen, through reception to housekeeping, poolside and catering. Refurbishment in public areas could have been carried through to the room as it was clean but looking tired. As I prefer to self cater, the kitchenette is very well equipped for up to 4 people. It is nice and peaceful with lovely pools and gardens to relax in.
Have been coming to the Royal Savoy for a few years and time again the standard of service has been extremely good. The rooms are very comfortable and the views are totally uninterrupted and quite breathtaking.
