If you like traffic noise with fumes then book a sea view room here. We had already read on Trip Advisor about the sea view rooms being directly above a busy road so requested a garden view room but got "Upgraded" to a sea view room without telling us.we asked to be moved but was told no other rooms were...

Good morning. Thank you fopr your review. Having reviews are the best way for the service provider to improve service standards and for those who read them to realize how sometimes reviews are "peculiar" like this one is. We would like to know how would the reaction be if a sea view room was requested at check-in and we would...

Brilliant hotel to use as a base in Funchal. Town is in walking distance and is spectacular. Lots of restaurants nearby too but to be honest the Italian restaurant onsite Berninis was our favourite. The staff are all exceptional and so helpful in arranging day trips/excursions. A particular note too how good they were with my autistic son.

We has a small apartment which was quite sufficient for our needs. The kitchen was compact and well equipped, the bed comfortable and the apartment was serviced every day. We had a balcony without a view but which was a pleasant place to sit before venturing out in the evening for a meal. This aparthotel's location was the main reason...

We have just returned from a two week stay at the Imperatriz and really enjoyed it. We found the reception staff to be very good indeed. Duarte (Mr. Coffee) is always so helpful and a pleasure to talk to. The Wii fi in the room is brilliant but you do not need it as Viktor on reception is very knowlegable...

Normally, when we visit Funchal, we stay elsewhere, but on this occasion we had an extended stay to meet up with family & the Imperatriz enabled us to stretch our budget. It's all been said elsewhere, but I liked this place for what it is. Duarte & Victor seem to be on the reception most of the time & did...

Nearly all the good and bad points made by other reviewers are true: differences lie in their attitudes, what they had paid, and their expectations. Basically good hotel, make no mistake. There are irritations, reception staff sometimes preoccupied or smug but usually helpful and friendly, TV remote on deposit, ants do get in but most hoovered up, the Madeiran standard...

Very clean well run place. Good size room , a bit dated particularly the quirky "kitchen" but perfectly satisfactory for those looking for no fuss clean accommodation within walking distance of town centre but close to local eateries etc. Cleaners hard working and efficient. Of the 3 receptionists ,Duarte the youngest , is the star the others are ok although...

Dear Tripadvisor, Thank you for your review. Regarding the comment of one of our collaborators being on the phone a lot is due to high demand calls we receive in a specific period of time (early morning, before lunch time and after lunch time). We are sure no guest is left on hold, the phone call yes, since the present...

Best part of this holiday was the location of the hotel. Rooms basic Beds basic. Cleanliness Basic nice towels and cleaned every day............. But ants...... Kitchenette in the cupboard definitely needs updating, no toaster, no microwave, these are basics if you need to make a breakfast, pity as this hotel is fantastically located. Deffo only a two star for me....

Dear Tripadvisor member, Thank you for your review. I'd like to think that enough was said about ants in previous hotel comments. All in our power was done to minimize it and we still do. Ants are not a plague or lack of hygiene. Kitchenette itself is basic, do not confuse it with a kitchen (different definitions). In all rooms...
