We booked this hotel as a base in which to walk the levadas. Although we chose to stay in a sea view suite with kitchenette rather than the hotel, it was quiet, clean and very comfortable. You can eat breakfast in the hotel or use the kitchen in your apartment. The breakfast was good value 8 euros and plenty to...

We recently stayed at this hotel for a week over Easter. We booked via one of the usual websites which was painless. The hotel is a lovely old colonial style house with an annexe housing a further 10 or so rooms looking over the bay. The hotel is approx 5-10 minutes walk from the old town and restaurant area. The...

This is a lovely hotel with a boutique feel about it. The rooms are immaculate, view across the bay outstanding, a lot of attention to detail has gone into designing the rooms and hotel and the location is excellent for the old town and harbour. The beds are comfortable, rooms spacious, bathroom spacious (a nice touch when so many hotels...

we stayed in room 204, booked through Easyjet holiday sale in January this year. Our room had a view across the harbour and we...

This hotel was in a great location a nice stroll to the old town and the new shopping area. The staff were excellent from the first time we meet them and through out our stay. Everything we needed was there and nothing was to much trouble. We were able to pick which days we wanted breakfast we only had to...

The hotel arranged for us to be met at the airport and delivered safely at the hotel. They had made sure our room was ready despite us arriving before 10am. Very welcoming and a lovely big room. The hotel rooms are modern and there are plenty of comfortable places to sit in the hotel and a lovely garden to sit...

Great stay, very impressed with the hotel, simplicity and style, away from mass tourism and lovely terrace with views. Very helpful staff. Very close to botanic gardens, bus outside hotel and close to old town restaurants and bus station for buses across island. Ideal hotel if you want the option for self catering on occasions. Lovely to eat meals on...

This unusual hotel is located above one of the older parts of Funchal. It is just 10 minutes walk downhill into the centre and to the restaurant area. If you prefer not to walk there are a number of buses that pass by the door. The staff were all delightful and very helpful. Eating (a delicious) breakfast on the terrace...

Breakfast holds claim to strong, Portuguese coffee and homegrown, organic herbal teas and fruits. The charming service team will welcome you "home" as cherished friends and family, assuredly sharing with you the island's best kept secrets. Furnishings in the rooms are bright and breezy with wooden floors and air conditioning throughout. All rooms are connected to complimentary wireless internet, many with well-equipped kitchenettes and open terraces. Suites are located in the original mansion, while the studios are situated in a modern annex. Covered, on-site parking is both secure and complimentary.
