Having stayed at this beautiful hotel in May 2018, my husband and I decided to visit again. This hotel is absolutely beautiful from the stunning views, gorgeous pool and comfortable rooms. The staff are extremely helpful and courteous, especially Eduardo in the bar who makes a mean cocktail and always serves with a smile. Well done Melia Madeira Mare - from some very happy guests in room 717 who only have a few days left with you until next year!…
Just returned home from a lovely, relaxing stay at the 5* Melia Mare. From entering to leaving the hotel after seven days we could have not wished for more.Very swift check in by reception.Very polite & when we arrived at our room our bags were there.Only dined in the restaurant for breakfast but could not fault the staff or selection of food in anyway. We used to have a couple of hours around the pool every morning before going out for the day.Spotless round the pool area due to a very friendly pool attendant working tirelessly. When we returned to our room at lunchtime the maid had been & everything was "like new again" I would recommend using the Malo spa clinic to make your holiday even more relaxing. We had a lovely stay at the Melia & was blessed with some very sunny weather. The views from the sea facing rooms are such a tonic, especially first thing in the morning when having a coffee sat looking out. Very sad to come home & leave some lovely friends we have made over the years at the Melia hotel but returned home very relaxed & refreshed. We will be returning in late Sept to the Melia Big thank you to all concerned Mr & Mrs R.Morton…
My boyfriend and I were guests at Melia Madeira Mare in April 2019. Check-in was easy and efficient. A lady at reception gave us information about the hotel and surroundings and then gave us room key (card). She was pretty nice like everybody at reception (Sending lots of good word to them!). As this is 10 year of Melia Maderia Mare in Funchal we got a free Voucher for Spa day anytime we like so this was a very nice surprise! We are not usually a couple that goes to Spa so this was enyoyable experience. After check-in, we went to the room. Room is big and spacious, as well as the bathroom. We got a room with a big balcony. Rooms are clean and housekeepers are quick and gave us clean towels every time we needed them. Advice! Do not stay at Melia without breakfast! Breakfast was perfect! Lots of different fruits, bread, salami, cheese... Everything! Waiters at breakfast were always smiling and want to help if needed. We loved the billiard and the darts on the ground floor! Actually, everything was perfect! If you want to have a relaxing holiday just pick this hotel! But keep in mind, we were probably the youngest people staying at the hotel (25y and 28y). We didn't mind that, but maybe you will! :)…
We spent 5 nights at the Melia Madeira Mare last week and all had a fantastic holiday. I was travelling with my brother, my Mum and my 3 year old son, so three generations and it was ideal for us. We used both pools every day and never found them to be too busy. In fact, often we were the only ones in the pool. The food was great too, with plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner. If I were to make one small criticism, as a vegetarian, it was sometimes a shame that the hot vegetable dishes had meat added to them, but I always found plenty of food to eat. The rooms were fantastic - really large and always spotlessly clean. What made the hotel 5 star for us was the service from the staff. All of them went out of their way to be friendly and welcoming and treated us like royalty! We particularly wanted to mention Carla on reception who always went out of her way to help us and Lennie in the restaurant who was always very kind to my son. We would recommend the hotel, and Madeira in general, to anyone.…
This is the fourth time we spend our vacation in this hotel. Ever since the first time we have experienced the warmth and hospitality from the staff and management. The staff is stable, professional and service minded. We feel at home when greated on our returns. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, with aircondition and sea view. The location is perfect in the middle of the lido area. Close by there are lot of pleasant restaurants, public sea access and scuba dive facilities. The bus conections to the city centre (La lina verde) and to Monte #48 are quite frequent. The hotel have exceptional free under ground parking. The breakfast buffet is a treat with a great selection of tasty food. The signature restaurant El Massimo is excellent and offers modern international and Madeira cuisine with an extensive wine list. The pool area is clean and with lots of sunbeds. Evening entertainment is high quality and worth attending. Thank you for having us as your guests. We'll be back again soon. Ps.The vouchers for the drinks were good for nothing.…
