This hotel is fairly small but the welcome is big and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We were staying on a half board basis and the food was really very good. The only criticism I can make is that the lighting in the bedrooms isn’t great and whilst the beds are large, they were a little uncomfortable.
We had a long weekend here and simply cannot fault the hotel or staff. The staff cannot do enough for you and are polite and helpful. The hotel is modern and clean and the sea view room we had was perfect.
The staff at the hotel were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel was amazing. The hotel bedroom was a great size with a sea view, very comfortable and great facilities. I would recommend this hotel which is a great location in Funchal
Recently returned from a fantastic week away in Funchal, Madeira. Stayed at the Pestana CR7 hotel. The hotel was boutique style, the room was quite basic, however our only real issue was the poor lighting, otherwise, clean and comfortable with lovely view from the patio doors, comfortable bed and great pillows. Really quiet hotel, breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and the staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Katarina (Kat) was exceptional. Overall Funchal is a real friendly place to visit and PestanaCR7 hotel is ideally situated.
This hotel has all the facilities you would want from a hotel, pool on the roof, terrific view of harbour, close to city centre (10 minute walk), lovely comfortable room, clean, great breakfast, bar, restaurant, checkout at noon…. But most of all amazing staff!! From the moment you arrive to when you leave you are made to feel welcomed, you’re not ‘pestered’ in anyway, they don’t intrude into your holiday but are busy making sure your stay meets and exceeds expectation.
Great Hotel - Great Staff! We initially booked into this hotel for two nights but stayed for five. At first we thought it could be too cool and soccer oriented for two old fogies like us but not the case at all. We loved everything about this hotel…its location, the room, the view, the food and primarily the staff…..who went out of their way from check in to check out to make our stay in Funchal a very memorable experience! A shout out to Hugo and Nuni who were exceptional in our dealings with them.
Stayed here some days, ok hotel, but strange happening last night: Were promised we could watch ManU vs Arsenal on the big telly in the lobby.. After having enjoyed the first half we were told to move to a tiny scrappy tv because there was a game with CR and he had a contract that his games should be shown on the main telly. Absolutely noone was interested in that match. I think the hotel should consider this policy If they want to have guests that Are interested in fotball!
Although I did not stay at this hotel I visited while on a cruise on Christmas Day! To my horror that evening as we sailed away I went to look for my purse only to realise my husband had left it on the table while getting coffees. We had all our holiday money and credit cards inside we quickly called and spoke to a lovely lady named Cat who confirmed she had the purse counted the money and assured us she would put it in their safe. Luckily my family where visiting maderia today and were able to pick it up! Cat has been amazing and communicated with me multiple times! I cannot thank her and the team enough for their honesty, integrity and professionalism. We plan to return later this year and will be staying in this hotel because they are the absolute best! Thank you everyone involved!…
We stayed for 5 nights with our two small children and my parents. The hotel location was perfect for exploring Funchal. The staff and food were excellent throughout. The rooms were very comfortable, spacious and clean, and we absolutely loved the beds. We ate a delicious breakfast every morning - in particular a fantastic omelette made to order. We cannot praise this hotel enough and look forward to returning very soon.
We stayed one night for New Year's Eve and the gala dinner. While the hotel is more casual than we'd normally choose, and the rooms quite small, the location is unbeatable, the service excellent and the dinner was superb. Far from the usual more informal offering it was a fine dining experience delivered brilliantly. We would heartily recommend to anyone else looking to spend New Year's Eve in Funchal.
