We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during our short visit to Madeira. The hotel is very unique and always on the topic of football and Cristiano Ronaldo. If you are not a football fan it can feel a bit weird walking around the lobby and the halls and even being in the room. We had one of the basic rooms and it was great! It had a comfy bed and a large TV with direct access to the outdoor area. The bathroom was clean and it really gave the vibes of a changing room with its yellow walls. Also, the room would benefit from more lighting, but I understand that it adds to the atmosphere of the place. The staff of the hotel was amazing. We were greeted by Estefani on our first day there who was kind enough to check if our room was ready before the normal check-in hours and also offered us a welcome drink. We then met her all other days we were at the hotel and she made sure to answer all the questions we had regarding our stay and the city! The breakfast was perfect too with a variety of items to choose from both local to Madeira and from the continental selection. They also followed a very rigorous sanitation process at the breakfast with everyone asked to put hand sanitiser when entering the breakfast area and being given their own tongs to grab their food. Also, there was no cutlery on the table and the staff brought it to us when we were seated. The location of the hotel was great too, only a short distance from the city centre (which was always an enjoyable walk) and with great views from the swimming pool area of the port and the city of Funchal, especially at night. The other perks of staying there were that we got discounted parking at the car park in the basement of the hotel and also free tickets for the CR7 Museum next door. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay there and would love to stay again here if we ever go back to Funchal!…
The best staff I have ever met working in a hotel. Breakfast is amazing and the view is astonishing. Is great to have the possibility to visit CR7 Museum with the most important trophies he conquered. My son loved the hotel all themed with Cristiano Ronaldo shirts and photos.
Directly facing the sea just about 5 mins walk from centre of Funchal, this is an unusual place both in design and decor. Large open plan downstairs bar and restaurant with excellent breakfast variety, cocktails and simple food in the evening with Tv on sport channels all the time. All rooms are on first floor either facing the hills behind and a terrace garden, or facing the sea with balcony. Be aware that cruise ships moor right in front of the hotel which does block the view but it is an ever changing view ! Staff are superbly helpful and friendly and the hotel is a nice place to relax with a pool and terrace upstairs. Would definitely recommend as an unusual place to stay that is very well situated.
As soon as we arrived at CR7 we were made very welcome by the reception staff Miguel and Stephanie. The hotel was very chic with nice detailing, bedrooms were well laid out, style was very bougee. Don’t be put off by the outside look, it’s great inside and very eclectic. Breakfast was very tasty with plenty of choice. Would be returning in the future.
Location is great...the hotel itself could be improved. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast OK, coffee not great. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Blind on outside of bathroom...worst idea ever- zero privacy! The nightclub opposite thumps out hard house until 6am..OK if you're 21, the noise ricochets throughout the room. Overall enjoyed the stay in Maderia but wouldn't return to CR7.
