There are two sides to every story, so please read to the end... If you are looking for a modern hotel with matching amenities, this is not for you. Not all rooms have en suite and mine not even a wardrobe. The room furniture is from a car boot sale. There is no bar and, despite claims and pictures on...

The location is marvellous - in the heart of the old town but far enough away from the local restaurants to be peaceful at night. The old house is full of wonderful rooms and period furniture. Service was excellent and Marco was very helpful. If you are looking for somewhere to stay with atmosphere ans soul - this is the...

Staying in this quaint old house on the east of Funchal, it may not be an hotel but it's position ,friendly owner and staff, have made this first trip to Madeira memorable, and I will be back asap ! It is just out of the 'old town' but feels like a different town ! Further up the hill is a...

Spent one week at this charming guesthouse .Its position in the old quarter perfect and if situated at the front you even will witness Cruise ships sail by your window. The guesthouse is full of Madierian furniture and charm quite unique to your normal style hotel but so individual .It is very clean and kept in very good order' The...

I would have given a higher rating here if it wasn't for the unfortunate circumstances of our stay. First off, the good parts: 1) The owner was incredibly friendly, even giving us a free lift in his car about 2 km to the airport bus stop as we had 5 bags. Thank you publicly for that Agostino.:-) 2) Breakfast food...

A unique experience of a bygone era with a superlative host, Agostinho, who surpassed his reputation on trip advisor. The most noteworthy and prized feature is The Tower Room, all in all a home away from home. Thank you.

It was an excellent choice. I travel regularly abroad and stay in hotels 4 and 5 stars, but Vitorina Court Guesthouse feels an extra star for the very warm and thoughtful personalized atmosphere, friendliness and helpfulness of the people. The historic house very near the sea is well located. One of the favorite spots for a holiday in Funchal.

We loved everything about staying at the guesthouse. From the moment we arrived, Augustino made us feel right at home. Our room was comfortable and we had the most beautiful view of the ocean from our window. The furniture was antique and had so much lovely character! Our room had a double bed and a single bed, as well as...

I must start with the hosts at this guesthouse, from the moment we arrived to the time we left we were attended to by the hosts who made us feel so welcoming, that it was just like being at home. I have never been so sad to leave a guesthouse and return home. Also from a parents perspective they make...

This is a hard one, people. We stayed at this guesthouse on the strength of excellent reviews. First the good stuff!- excellent location, on the edge of the old town, with views of the sea and the sound of birdsong. - veranda with all day sunshine big enough to sit out and read with a glass or two! - a...
