I won't go on and on a repeat what everyone else is saying... I will just agree that this is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed! Luis is great, the place is great. Book here without hesitation!

From the time we set foot in the Zuzabed our trip to Lisbon took off. We were met by the most gracious host in Lisbon 'Luis' who made our stay one that we will not forget and hope to repeat. He called to make sure venues were open for us, took us out for a glass of wine at a...

We were so impressed with the conveniences that Luis provided to his guests. Not only did we have a lovely breakfast but there was a refrigerator in the common area stocked with milk, chocolate milk and juice and also an espresso maker for guests use. Luis provides the use of a computer with free internet access in the living area....

It's difficult not to repeat what has already been said so many times before in previous reviews. Zuzabed is simply the best. Fresh flowers, coffee and tea, a fridge for an afternoon bottle of Vino Verde, great breakfast and very comfortable rooms. Better than all of this is Luis. When I read previous reviews my thought was "this guy can't...

Luis is an exceptonal host, but keep in mind, that is his business. It is a great location if you can climb the stairs to Zuzabed and inside the Inn. The breakfasts are bountiful, but Portugal has fantastic hams and cheeses, at breakfast it was pre-packaged lunch meat and cheese. I would recommend the stay for a couple days, but...

What else can I say, what has not been said a hundered times before!? Yes, it is all true. The rooms are great (we stayed in the Vintage), clean and cosy and romantic. And we really felt at home as Luis wanted us to. He is so well organised and amiable and interested in people that we felt welcomed from...

Well, I know this is a little late for the review, but we stayed in Sept 07 with friends in next room (on top with terrace). We all had a great experience! Louis was so hospitable and happy to help with anything & everything. Nothing was too much to ask. The rooms aren't huge and neither are the bathrooms, but...

My husband and I just returned from 10 days in beautiful Portugal, traveling with my cousin and her husband. We had the good fortune to stay at Zuzabed - what a wonderful experience. From the minute the taxi drove up (as close as he could get!!!) to the entrance, we knew it would be a special visit. We arrived around...

Luis Zuzarte isn't just the owner, he is your host for the duration of your stay. He is driven by a desire to ensure that you have a memorable visit, not only to Zuzabed but also to his city. After only a few minutes in his company he is not only your host but your friend and looks after all...

We arrived in Lisbon and found Zuzabed to be a fantastic and amazing place!! Luis was a very gracious host! He was always taking care of us, making sure we were ok and had everything we needed. I had allergies to alot of food and Luis helped me to write some portugese phrases down so that I could communicate well...

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
