Inaugurated in February 2014, My Story Hotel Ouro, located in an 18th-century building, brought to down-town Lisbon the concept of hospitality that had been missing, in this capital, one of the most visited in Europe: elegance, comfort, modernity and design spread over five floors of charm and history inherent to its prime location- Rua Áurea, better know as Rua do Ouro (Gold Street)-one of the most famous and historic streets of Lisbon.

We decided to visit Lisbon to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary, liaising with the hotel before we arrived. Alfredo answered my questions promptly, and the hotel gave us excellent restaurant recommendations.

We arrived just after lunch, our room on the 5th floor was ready for us, beautifully decorated with rose petals and love hearts, a really lovely gesture and so special. We were also given a superb bottle of red wine to celebrate, really touched.

Our room was lovely, modern and clean, loads of light, warm with a/c - just what we needed for a couple of nights, it would've been more than adequate for a longer stay. The bathroom has Rituals products, compact but has everything you need.

Our check in was quick, just a couple of minutes, the location is second to none, very central within waking distance to the centre, lots of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.

We took a free walking tour, most convening from Rossio square, with a great tour guide Yuri.

We went to Sintra from Rossio train station €5.00 per person return, the station 5mins walk away.

Breakfast, continental, cheese, hams, selection of bread and pastries, jams fresh fruit, fruit juice, scrambled eggs, beans, bacon all freshly prepared buffet style.

We dined at the hotel's restaurant, book online and you get 40% off a la carte menu, food only. Service excellent, food good, simple menu but really tasty.

Lisbon itself needs a little TLC, loads of graffiti, nonetheless, people friendly, we felt safe, food is the best.

This was a great, reasonably priced hotel in the center of Lisbon. The room was small, but the bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. There is a restaurant in the lobby of the hotel which served good food and drinks and a breakfast each morning. I felt welcomed by the reception and restaurant staff. I'd highly recommend it if you have a few days in Lisbon, as it is close to many attractions and restaurants.

We recently visited Portugal to celebrate our birthday and selected this lovely hotel for our stay in Lisbon. The location is wonderful, the guest rooms great for travelers, and the breakfast each morning is exactly what is needed to begin your daily exploration of the beautiful city. What rises this property to the very top of our list, however, is the staff. Two individuals I would especially like to acknowledge are Tomas and Joana. They were attentive, professional, patient and, most of all, gracious. The personal touches were many and thoughtful, from the delivery of a delicious bottle of wine to our room on our birthday to arranging a special dinner at a nearby restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious meal and beautiful fado performance. Their knowledge of the city and all that it offers was invaluable. They went well above and beyond expectations at every turn. Highly recommend My Story Hotel Ouro. You will not be disappointed.

There is no lobby. The reception is 1 person standing with his laptop at the restaurant bar. The staff is not friendly at all. There is only 1 person to help check you in, so if it’s a busy day, you’ll have to wait long. The room and hallways wreak of this awful scent like cheap perfume that is over sprayed. The room is tiny and will only fit 1 big suitcase. They only offer 1 very small complimentary bottle of water. The location is good though and quite central.

We travelled across Europe and Lisbon was our last destination before heading back to Canada

Our room was clean and cozy with a street view
The staff was very friendly and welcoming
There are 2 staff members, in particular, that were the stars of our stay; Fabianni and Tomas

We saw Fabianni every morning during breakfast, she always checked up on us to make sure we got everything we need, she's very friendly and social we really enjoyed chatting with her

Tomas taught us alot about the Portuguese culture, we learned alot from him and laughed alot with him.
He also promptly helped us with an AC problem we had.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel

Thank you to all the staff members

Last month we spent 9 days at My Story Hotel Ouro. All was good from the time we arrived till the time we left (last day receptionists and some restaurant employees walked us to our taxi to say goodbye).
Our room, on the second floor, was comfortable and quiet, with a big, nice bathroom, enough outlets in the room, good AC, nice TV set, and Wi-Fi fast and dependable. The room cleaning was efficient and timely. It was a room prepared for people in a wheelchair and it was perfected adapted.
This hotel is in a top location, with easy access to most Lisbon attractions. The hotel’s staff are friendly, and their service is particularly good, most of them talk a very good English. The breakfast was another plus, reasonably varied in options, and always fresh; the helpers in the restaurant were very nice.
But the best of all were the people in the reception, ready to help with every single detail, even in anticipation to any request.
An extra special thanks to the young lady who took care of every detail with a friendly smile on her face, including lending me a hairdryer to keep until the one in my room was repaired; she was also very helpful in recommending what to do and where to dine, including a Fado place that resulted excellent. Also special thanks to the reception young man who received us at our arrival, after 8 hours flying, his reception was priceless, as they were all the multiple instances in which we needed his help. (I’m very sorry I do not remember their names).

Where do I begin? I have never felt more love for a hotel. Every single employee at My Story Hotel Ouro was so kind and helpful - the best service and customer mindset of any place I've ever stayed and I have been all over the world! I came in without a reservation and without my passport and wallet which had been misplaced the day before. I was stuck in Lisbon until I could locate my things and all I had on me was my phone which thankfully had a picture of my passport and credit cards stored in Apple Pay. Claudia at the front desk listened to my story and was kind enough to find me a room at a discounted rate and threw in free breakfast given my desperate situation. She let me borrow an adapter as my phone battery was dangerously low and she just made my day brighter by being so kind and sympathetic - she even offered me a hug which made me burst into tears. She shared in my joy when I was able to locate my things later that evening. I had an amazing shower and great night of sleep in the clean and quiet room. The location is also amazing - right in the center of the city where there are tons of restaurants and shopping. I would highly recommend this hotel to any weary travelers. The staff here are trustworthy, helpful and kind.

The location was wonderful and the staff extremely helpful. We stayed in three different rooms as we used Lisbon as a base and returned here from each leg of our journey. The first room room was very small but comfortable and quiet. The next two rooms were much larger but faced the side street. Unfortunately the hotel restaurant plays very loud and monotonous techno-dance music with the bass on high all day and night. Even with the TV and on the 5th floor - we needed to keep the window closed but could still hear it. Just ask for a room on the main street and enjoy the nice breakfast!

My fiance and I stayed here for 3 nights and the location was great - very central to a lot in Lisbon, but the hotel stay itself was just OK. We booked a Double Room and we were given a room on the 5th floor. Beware if you get a room here - because half of our room had caved in slopped ceilings and you literally have to DUCK to get to the other side of the bed. I hit my head at least 5 times getting to the other side of the room. The bathroom didn't feel clean, and there was visible mold in the shower and under the sink. The front desk staff weren't very welcoming or warm - and no one once asked us how our stay was. We didn't provide this feedback while we were staying on property, so TBD on if we just received a horrible room, but I was not impressed.

We are housed in a building over 250 years old which has been converted while retaining the original architecture, and which has rooms with many unique characteristics. We visited Lisbon and marveled at how the city has changed in my eyes to be a vibrant and artsy place (not to mention clean!). We stayed at My Story Hotel Ouro and we were not disappointed! It is centrally-located with convenient access to many sites - the river, Bairro Alto, Alfama and the Rossio/Restauradores areas. Metro and train stations are also close by. Many of these places are walkable and along the way there are many interesting artisanal shops.
Breakfast presents an excellent spread - not overwhelming but of high quality.
The staff are professional but warm and respond to requests efficiently.
The hotel is an excellent base to explore the city!
