Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!

A compact hotel spread over 7 floors right in the centre of downtown Lisbon. Our 1st floor room was in the corner overlooking the street below, where we could easily watch the trams come by and enter the square. The large windows had thick curtains that cut out all the light and

The Hotel was lovely and felt very modern. The hotel is fig themed, as in the fruit, it is interesting to see. The lobby is quite large and the bar and restaurant are very busy at nights. The breakfast wasn't too bad and had the basics of a european breakfast.

The staff were he

Stayed here for 2 nights, the hotel was very clean and with a very unique inside design.
The breakfast which cost 10 euros per person when paid on the day was well worth it.
The staff is very professional and kind, and especially the Brazilian guy, Stefan, always with a smile,

Hi - I am looking to book a one night stay for my husband and myself and our 2 year old. Can you explain the bed situation in one of your premium rooms that would accommodate us? Also, is there a sitting area in the room? Thank you.
I had a nice seating area in my room. It was a nice writing desk with 2 chairs behind my bed.

"We had a room on the 4th floor overlooking Praça da Figueira and found it quiet (albeit dark)"

"Ask for quiet, but not massively noisy considering city centre."
