Stayed here for my friend's hen do (which I booked) and we all absolutely loved it. Beautiful flats with a very helpful and pleasant reception- highly recommended and would stay here again when in Lisbon.

We stayed in the two-bedroom apartment. It was not very large but the design was very warm and cosy. Good location, just 5 mins walk to the metro and the waterfront. The supermarket was about 15 mins away, and you have to climb steep slopes to get to the supermarket. But this was the only drawback.

We arrived in Lisbon SUPER early from Ireland and we had to store our bags so we could explore LIsbon. Upon arrival we were able to check in and but since our room was not ready we were able to store out bags in spacious lockers. We then went to see the Ocenarium and wandered around the neighborhood upon our...

We were a family of 5 with three kids ages 15, 13 and 9. The apartment was very comfortable and fully equipped with everything we needed and the air conditioning worked great. Ines was lovely and always helpful with information. Super easy to walk anywhere from the apartment or easy to get a taxi or tuk tuk. Was a great...

We spent 4 nights in this location just couple a days ago - family of 2 adults and 2 kids, 6 and 13 years old. I can fully confirm the positive reviews by other travellers. It is a cosy and very nicely decorated flat, also very well equipped kitchen, washing machine, iron machine etc. Very warm and helpful service by...

Love the apartment's location as it is in the Baixa town centre, with easy access to supermarkets, eateries, shops, metro station Praca de Commerico and the tramps which we took often for sight seeing to places like Alfama, Sao Jorg Castle, Betlem Tower, the monastery etc. The apartment's good location is not immediately noticeable when we first arrived at night...

We stayed in a deluxe two bed apartment at the Madalena Hermitage and greeted by a lovely and helpful host. The apartment was clean, big enough for two couples and had everything we need. All four of us would recommend these apartments if you plan to stay in Lisbon :)

This is a great apartment in the center of Lisbon. Four friends staying in a 2 bedroom apartment with a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable separate TV area. Washing machine and dishwasher were great amenities. The apartment was perfect. The street could be noisy as night but with the windows closed and air on we slept like babies. The Hermitage...

5 of us stayed in a 2 bedrooms apartment for 2 nights when we stopped by Lisbon. Initially we were a little worried if the 5th person could stay comfortably in this place. However, the sofa bed turned out to be relatively large and comfortable (it could actually sleep 2 pax). We made shift the sofa bed by putting on...

All places of interest were within walking distance. Use a tuktuk or tram to go to the top of the hill and walk back down. Wonderful restaurant very...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
