Juan will not only graciously welcome you, but truly give you wonderful advice on local libations & cuisine. Day two of 7, not an ounce of disappointment. Photos & more crudos to come after we...

Thank Juan and Luis for making our stay in Lisbon so memorable. The rooms were beautiful, breakfast to die for, or at least wake up for. Perfect location. We walked everywhere from here. Close to some great restaurants. This is what you imagine a guesthouse should be and more. Thank you

This is the very best kind of guesthouse. Care and attention to detail lie at the heart of how Juan and Luis run Casa Amora - nothing is too much and everything is beautifully presented. The breakfast is delicious - lots of homecooked food, jams and pastries in gorgeous local crockery that you can buy. The rooms were super comfy...

We ended our Portugal holiday trip in Lisboa staying at this lovely B&B. Our family of five adults stayed in our own "house" Casa Atelier attached to the guesthouse. It was a great space for us with three bedrooms and bathrooms, a kitchen and living room area. A sumptuous breakfast was delivered to us and set up in the living...

What an amazing Guesthouse! Lovely antiques and delightful rooms. So much charm and character. The best part of the whole experience are the people - from Juan, who makes you feel immediately like you are long lost friends just catching up, to the beautiful women who serve up delectable delights in the kitchen or who perfectly make your room warm...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa Amora is a typical building of Lisbon’s early twentieth century petite bourgeoisie, renovated in 2012, with a small outdoor patio for rest or meals and 5 bedrooms (all with bathroom). Each room pays homage to one of the great figures of Portuguese art (painting, music, literature, film) of the last century. The process of renewal and adaptation carefully kept all the decorative elements existing in the rooms (plaster) and exterior (tiles, balcony), introducing a color palette that contributes to a peaceful and relaxing environment. Casa Amora is located in one of the nicest and most central districts of Lisbon, Praça das Amoreiras. In this neighborhood, where the 18th century Aqueduct (that survived the great Lisbon earthquake of 1755) reaches and end, Casa Amora is neighbor to Water Museum (Museu da Mae de Agua) and the Vieira da Silva / Arpad Szenes museum. Residents and visitors have easy and direct access to the neighborhoods of antique shops (Rua de Sao Bento and Rua da Escola Politecnica), historic districts (Bairro Alto and Chiado), Avenida da Liberdade and its fashion shops as well as the shopping center Amoreiras, all at walking distance. ... more   less
