Had a wonderful stay at Zuzabed B&B. Luis, Anna, and all staff were extremely pleasant and helpful - nothing was too much to ask. The Duque Suite is gorgeous, spacious, and well-equipped with anything you would need. The location of the B&B is great - can walk to all the major sites. Thanks for making my trip to Lisbon a...

On previous trips we've stayed in the terrace rooms at the Zuza B&B which had great views and fun communal breakfasts where we met many interesting people. More recently we stayed in one of the Zuza Suites and it was fabulous. Large, new, clean, and surrounded by great restaurants and bars. The Bairro Alto area is very lively and can...

Lisbon is a wonderful city and Zuza is a great place to stay. Luis and Ana were welcoming, friendly and really helpful. Our apartment was spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Its location was really convenient for exploring the city. Highly recommend staying here.

I stayed in the Top Apartment for 9 days. The apartment is immaculate, well-equipped and very comfortable. In Bairro Alto, it is close to metro, great restaurants and bars, and is within easy walking distance to many historic sites. Luis and Anna are helpful, responsive and very pleasant, and overall, this was a great trip. I would recommend Zuza without...

We stayed here for a 3 day trip to Lisbon. The owner is very nice and engaging. The cook who prepared the breakfast did a fantastic job, very kind. We stayed in the cozy room. It was quiet, and the guest house is very centrally located for the metro, dining, shopping and getting around. We loved our brief stay and...

The welcome was very nice and helpful. The included breakfasts were more than enough. We were steet level which suited us fine though was a little noisy one night. But was quiet after restaurant closed. It is Buenos Aires Na Fabrica. So convenient and the food was good. The weather was mild so the room was comfortable. Would stay here...

Our suite was clean and spacious and well within walking distance of the beautiful Lisbon waterfront, tain station, and right in the heart of downtown. The bag of fresh bread at our door in the morning was a welcome touch. Bem feito e obrigado Luis.

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
