My husband is an ambassador member so we always try to book at the Intercontinental. We have never been disappointed with the IC brand and similar to other IC properties we have stayed at, we were very happy with the Lisbon intercontinental.

We stayed for an evening in mid November. Room was fine but hotel isn't located near restaurants and bars and the IC bar doesn't open until 7:00PM. Yes, you can get a cocktail in the reception area of the hotel but having a cocktail in a brightly lit foyer next to someone who

Dear 841LindaR, Thank you for choosing to stay at InterContinental Lisbon and for taking the time to write a review about your recent experience. I would like to start by expressing our apologies for not meeting your expectations. In fact it is unfortunate to note the negative impressions reflected on this occasion regarding the opening time of our bar and for the less positive experience in our breakfast room as well as for the impact of our renovations. As you know, we have commenced our long-awaited renovation project of all rooms and public areas including our main Breakfast Room. This will completely transform our guest room experience and many of our public spaces, bringing InterContinental Lisbon back to a state of modern elegance and luxury. And for this reason breakfast is currently being served in our well-known AKLA Restaurant, designed to provide and to serve some of the best experiences and dishes in Lisbon, although with a limited layout for a buffet style service like this one. This is in fact a temporary change, and we are looking forward to release the newly renovated breakfast room, that will certainly create memorable moments and bright mornings to our guests. Our renovations will come to an end in approximately 4 months and we would like to have another chance to welcoming you to InterContinental Lisbon and to show you our true level of service. If you ever plan to come back to Lisbon, please do not hesitate to contact us directly, Best regards, Joel Kanazawa Saldanha Director of Quality & Operation Support

Dear Mr. Ammar s, First of all I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your experience at InterContinental LISBON. It is regrettable to know that the restoration works have disrupted your stay and I would like to sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. Over the last couple of months we have been undergoing a full renovation of all our rooms and we are extremely sorry to learn that you were not informed as it has been communicated on all booking engines, our hotel website as well as to all our partners through regular updates from us. Renovations are always challenging and there is no perfect time for many of the necessary functions, nevertheless guest comfort and experience is our top priority, therefore I would like to assure you that your feedback is going to be shared with appropriate Heads of Department for analysis and improvement purposes. Much to our regret that we did not have the opportunity to meet in person as I believe we could have presented fast and reliable solutions to minimize the impact of your stay. I also realized that our team support towards this matter could have been more effective. In order to prevent this from happening in the future, new procedures are being put in place and we will also use your comments to coach and best train each of our representatives on how to properly handle our customers issues. We hope you will give us another chance by staying with us again, and if you ever plan to come back to Lisbon please do not hesitate to contact me. Would be a great pleasure to meet you personally and to show you our real level of service at InterContinental Lisbon. Best regards, Joel Saldanha Director of Quality & Operation Support

I am a spire elite member with Intercontinental. I booked a room for my wife and I and another room for another couple under my name. They are not club rooms but rooms with a view. Do I have to pay separate for club access and if so how much with my status. What upgrades can we expect? We stayed there before and really enjoyed the room and the club
Hi, your question a bit complex and I'm not sure I have all the answer but I try. firts of all, I met already number of travllers who has some kind of membership and they always expect automatic upgrades and so. The fact is that being a spire elit still not guarantee anything, I could ead the terms and considtions and it talks about that "upon availability". Let's assume they have the possibility, they certainly will give you an upgrade from a standard room to a delux or so because your membership. Club access is what I'm not sure, because as far as I know a spire elit is not qualified for that just a so called royal ambassador. But again, it all depends on the availability and the decision of the local leaders. I hope I could help. HAve a great holiday!

Is this hotel located within City Centre for tour pick-up? What’s the best way to visit Sintra? Will have 3.5 days on the ground? What else should we do? Is a trip to Seville feasible? Direct train access? Thanks.
This hotel is not in the historic old town. It is 7 minutes by taxi away from old town and main tourist attractions. To be in old town book AVENIDA PALACE HOTEL. Best way to explore Sintra is to rent a car and drive. If you don’t like to do it take a day tour. Sevilla is too far away for only 3 days. Getting to know Lisboa will take 2 days and Sintra another one.

Hello. Which rooms are best for views and which rooms have a balcony? Is this hotel right close to downtown and historical areas? How is the room service? Also how far is the hotel from the airport, and can I get around town on foot?
Hello. I stayed there in summer 2017. The hotel was ok but bit old furnished and old looking . The rooms at higher floors are much better . be careful not to get the room on the back of the hotel , since there is only one window and the view is not good . We changed for a better room . try to get the ones on the corner of the building facing the park and on the right with the view of the river. There are no balcony rooms as far as I had searched. The hotel is very close to the center . it is 5 minutes walking to the Marques the Pombal square from where the most popular street of Liberdade starts . it takes almost 20 minutes to walk down Liberdade ending to the older part of the city and Chiado region. Moreover in the Marques the Pombal you can find the Hop on Hop Off buses and also there is a subway stop. Room service : I didn't try it , but don't expect too much for the breakfast . the breakfast does not have much variety in comparison with the other 5 star hotels. Distance from the airport : almost 15-20 minutes. As the other friends said Uber is also provoding good services. And of course you can use the Buses too. The drop off stop is just 200 meter away from the hotel . For sure you can get around very easily on food . every thing is just nearby on foot and if you wanna go some further distances you can use the public transportation which is quite worthy and efficient . Don't forget to include Sintra and Caiscas into your program. They are 45 minutes away from Lisbon . It is a must . If you need any information on how to go to Sintra and which attractions to visit , please let me know about it . I would be very happy to be of help . Meanwhile , I am in Algarve , south part of Portugal . If you are staying for a longer time in Potrtugal , include Algarve in your plan . Its amazingly beautiful . the people are very nice and hospitable and the food is fantastic with amazing beaches. You can also write to me in case you need any further information . zahedie at gmail
