There were 14 of us travelling together and so we took up the whole 2nd floor. All the rooms are a little bit different and are quirkily designed. The lobby and bar are also quirky and eclectic - very nice decor. Staff are friendly and speak English. The free wifi on the 2nd floor works best in the rooms closer...

The design is really cool and makes you feel relaxed and somewhat in trendy Milan type hotel. Price is really good for the quality you get. Staff is nice and rooms are clean. Location no doubt is perfect for all Lisbon attractions and night life. you can walk to most of places.

Haven't seen a hotel like this before, rooms are uniquely designed (take a look at the photos!), each hallway is different from the next (our hallway had floor to ceiling (and ceiling) mirrors) and the reception is equally quirky. Great area on the top floor with views over the city. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Bar downstairs is fantastic,...

The location of this hotel could not be bettered. It was effectively on the main mall of the Baixa. The room and its facilities were first class and pride was taken in making sure everything worked perfectly. Owner's wife is an interior decorator and is responsible for the funky rooms, corridors, reception and café which spread out onto the mall....

We stayed from thursday to monday and we mainly happy with this hotel. Good things were the lovation which is in the heart of the Lisbon sites in many ways, cool design, generous room, good bed and working AC. The service was impeccable and room clean. The hotel has a bar connected to it that has live music every night...

I stayed here for a couple of nights and for what I paid wasn't expecting quite what we got. The reception area is along a slight "back street" but easy to get to and on entering the reception area, you know it's just going to be slightly different. The staff are very friendly and we got settled in fairly quickly....

The staff was probably the best part of our stay as they were very friendly and willing to help at all times. The location is pretty good, in the midst of the main tourist area in Lisbon. It was not a far walk to less touristy areas like Alfama and Bairro Alto, which we much preferred. The hotel has a...

We had the superior studio apt on the 5th floor. It was excellent. Although we didn't use the kitchenette , the extra space that came with the room was great. The bathroom was medium sized but very clean and functional. The price was right and the staff was very friendly. Definitely will stay here again and the superior room was...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
